Many professional wedding photo establishments do not limit their services to photo coverage.  These days they offer wedding photography and video services.  The addition of video coverage may however, increase the cost of hiring professionals to cover the wedding.

Is it worth getting video coverage for your wedding?  If so what are the things we should look for?

The great thing about wedding photo and video coverage is that they give you the means to remember a momentous occasion in your life through two different means.  Photos can record moments during the wedding  that videos can’t.  Moreover, wedding photos do not need a computer or a disc player to view.  One simply has to take out the wedding album and view it.

On the other hand, videos can record things that occurred during your wedding in ways that are not possible with photos.  For instance, the way the both of you exchanged your vows, the way you danced as husband and wife for the first time and the remarks of the groom’s best man is best preserved through wedding videos.

Whether this means of preserving your wedding memories is worth the extra cost is ultimately up to you.  But of you do intend to get both wedding photography and video coverage, here two things to consider when choosing an establishment to do so.

Firstly, one should always compare the packages being offered by different professional services.  Some offer packages that have more emphasis on the wedding video while some offer a great balance between photo and video coverage.

As mentioned earlier, these mediums each have their own advantages and your choice will depend on how you want to remember your wedding.
Second, it would always be wise to view samples of the professional service you wish to hire.  For photos, you can always check out the establishment’s portfolio.

Professional wedding photography businesses which also offer video coverage may also have a sample you can view when you visit them to make inquiries.  Do not agree to both photo and video coverage if you have no way of gauging what you are paying for.
