To get the chance to travel is a great opportunity – it enriches one’s life and opens up your mind to so many different things, different ways of life, different tastes and sounds, and there are so many different places in the world to visit. You don’t even have to travel that far, even in one’s own country there are many places to go visit, and something such as your own city, could provide you with more than enough places to photograph.

When you have the chance to go overseas it is for most people through a tour group, and when you visit some historic of famous landmarks, it could be at the very time of day that the sun sits high in the sky, throws dark shadows over everything, and creates harsh contrast. Buying the postcard of such place suddenly looks like the best idea. It might even be, because just being there is a great moment, and taking the time to explore the little streets or the people that make up the place you’re visiting, could provide you with interesting photographic opportunity.

Busy streets, active skies with clouds, buzzing markets, landscapes with vivid colour – all of these make for great photographs, and when you go in search of something, you’re bound to find it.

It’s a fun activity, and when you have the time to spend in some places to get great exposures at the right time of day, do it, but when not, still enjoy the experience, just have fun, and photograph your interesting surroundings, they will make you remember your trip in a whole different way.
