Louise- & Ryan Diesel recently had the chance to escape to the culturally rich country of Thailand. Thailand used to be the old Siam, but today, is very much the popular tourist attraction. Bangkok always buzzes with people, and there are so many places to visit and see.

It’s such a visually busy place, that one doesn’t know where to look, and it’s filled with subjects- and objects as far as you can see, so there are lots to photograph, When getting to the islands, like Phuket, there are beautiful beaches and gorgeous sunsets.

When visiting any place, on holiday or for business and you have the chance to photograph, it’s always just good, and to check what time of day it is. When right in midday, shadows are harsh, and the sky is pure white with no detail or colour. Our studio uses Canon’s, and Louise shot with the Canon 5D Mark II, which gives great low-light control. When dusk came, the sensor on the camera gave a fast enough shutter speed, to keep the camera handheld, instead of having to use a tripod. When you have the luxury of staying on one place for a few days, take the chance to sus out the light first, and see what happens in the day from sunrise, to sunset, to get the best idea, of when to take photos that will have active skies, bold colour, and enough detail
