Few things come close to the splendor, and magical feel of a wedding day. Many of these couples have been together for years or have know each other for quite some time, and on the wedding day, still some nerves seem to float around. The thought of having to take such a big step and that THIS is now the moment can overwhelm one. But then we have seen so many couples, just melting into the whole relaxed union of their promise, when they see each other. A bride looks extremely beaming and happy, and a groom looks so proud he could almost burst. At that moment nothing else matters for them, but each other, let alone who is standing in the wings capturing all of it happening. We had done a few weddings to know, that most couples love the relaxed, non-posed look, where the feeling is casual and not stiff and forced. We always try and get that mood going while we are shooting, so that you can only remember your big day as one of the best. For photographers, being in tune to what the couple is doing and reacting towards each other, and being aware of the surroundings and little nooks and spaces to use where we can photograph beautiful images, is all part of what makes us professional.

Wedding Photography

A wedding isn’t just a special occasion, it’s a once-in-a lifetime happening, and it will never be the same as it was that particular day.  There are so many moving parts part of a wedding day, months, sometimes years of planning go into every detail. For the bride especially, it’s all about getting everything “perfect”, but for us photographers, it’s all about moments being created and getting images within the energy that seems to float in the air on that day. Not only will the bride be looking absolutely breathtaking and the groom so proud he’s almost about to burst, but a lot of effort and planning went into all the small details of the wedding, such as the colour scheme, the venue’s atmosphere, how the tables will be set, the flowers playing an important role – all of that we make sure to capture as well.

The couple getting married is in such a daze on that day, they only have eyes for each other, and they don’t even get to remember all the small things that made up the day, but they get to look back at the photos, and go through all of the motions of that day again, which is a special moment in itself.

Wedding Photographers

Being the official photographers of the celebrity wedding of the year, made our studio very proud to be doing what we are. Duduzile Zuma and Lonwabo Sambudla got married the past Easter weekend, in both East London, and Inkandla, Mthatha, where the traditional ceremony was held. Duduzile’s father, Mr Jacob Zuma, the president of South Africa, was by her side, throughout most of the day.

He looked very proud and it was amazing to see such a tender side of him, which made us realize, at the end of the day, he is just a father giving away his daughter on her wedding day. Dudu’s wedding was partly sponsored by ZAR, operational in Johannesburg and Cape Town, and many of the ZAR-staff attended, some being good friends of Dudu, like Gayton McKenzie, owner of ZAR.

ZAR catered to all our needs, and it was a pleasure to work with them on this event. We had such a perfect day, with such great weather, and the calmness of the couple added to the good atmosphere of it all.

We hope to work again with such a great team, and we feel blessed to have used our talents and skill, to have made Dudu and Lonwabo’s day, even more special, and something they’ll remember forever.

Celebrity Wedding Photographers

A wedding should most of all, actually only be enjoyed. It can be quite a stressful day, but the most important thing of all, is that you say “I do” at the end of it all. Once that has happened, it’s a special sealed moment, and you can actually relax then, and just enjoy the rest of the day, the start of your life together.

On a wedding day, many things are happening at once, and you have all your loved ones there to celebrate it with you, so many things just fly past you and in the midst of it all, you hope it gets recognized by anyone, as you poured your heart into the planning of it all. We as the photographers, make sure to capture every last thing. Both Riani and I, are experienced wedding photographers, and Louise, being an avid photographer herself with a big interest in photography, saw our capability when she hired us both. We treat every single wedding as a personal reflection on us and of who we are, and it’s extremely important to us to get it right – both technically, and emotionally.

You want to remember it all, in a creative way after all, not just with some photographs only being a record of what happened. Wedding Photography

There is nothing worse than looking at wedding photos afterwards and the colour is off, especially on skin tones. Just like film in previous years, it might have a colour cast, and even some sensors tend to lean more towards red, or some towards green etc. With the Canon 5D Mark II that we use at our studio, it is the best in its class, to handle most lighting situations to the best of its abilities. Some cameras are specifically designed to handle low-light and motion well, like wildlife photography, where you would perhaps have birds in flight at sunset.

And some cameras are designed specifically for portrait photography – but the Canon 5D Mark II, has the best of all characteristics, and gives us ultimate performance in most lighting conditions, ranging from very bright, to dark.
On a wedding day, preferably little or nothing should go wrong, and especially the photographer’s equipment should be of such quality, that it can handle everything, and be able to give the best skin tones. In many other mediums a colour cast can’t always be spotted, but skin tones being any other colour than what it should be, is easily noticed, and just looks wrong.
Wedding photos will be the only thing you have left of that day, after many years have passed, and it’s of utmost importance that it is of the best quality, creatively & technically.

Having a wedding is extremely special, and knowing it will be recorded by professional photographers, would be the one thing that would give me peace of mind.
