Louise and I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Ivan & Lucille’s wedding at Avianto in September. They are so in love and this is exactly what comes forth in these wedding photographs.

I think the correct term for this photo would be ABSOLUTE BLISS… Let me introduce you to our bride Lucille, she is one of those rare bubbly personalities who lights up the whole room just by being there. You could even find her helping her mom putting her fabolous shoes on.

I can’t recall seeing her unhappy even once, I do remember how nervous she was as the golf cart edged closer to the church though. And then the cutest thing happened! Her mom and sisters started to do this funny breathing exercise with her which just really helped to smooth out some of the tension with a few good laughs. It was just so special!

Ivan the groom is just one of those special guys who adores his bride! You can see the way he constantly steals a glance at her, even when she is across the room. It’s the kind of love you come across in fairytales.

You guys share the kind of love that every soul on this earth is looking for, and reminds couples who have been married for decades about their own special bond. I loved the way you guys enjoyed every minute of this special day together. It was a whole big family affair with kids running around in the bridal suite and discussing shoes…

To be honest, it felt like home
The whole day was a wonderful day of two souls coming together. Celebrating your special wedding day at a venue like Avianto in Muldersdrift ensures that your day will go smoothly and that you will have gorgeous wedding photos.

Lucille & Ivan, may you two share many more happy days together until the end of eternity!

Why is it that whenever you think of a wedding nowadays there is just so much money involved? I think the focus has been shifted to having the best rather than the true meaning of the day which is 2 people pledging their love to each other and makinf the life-changing promise to be forever faithful. A wedding doesn’t need an expensive venue, over the top drapings and imported flowers… Instead use your creativity and plan everything simple ![]()

The day you get married will be unique, especially since you will probably be photographed more on that day than any other. Because of this, one of your key wedding decisions will be the photographer you choose. The photographer and style you choose can not only affect the look of your album, but also the flow of your wedding day!.Understanding a few basic principles about wedding photography styles can ensure that you find a good match.
“Traditional” Wedding Photography
When you look at most wedding albums, this is the style you see.The photographer will often have a checklist of combination’s, and the photos will be in a fairly limited number of settings because the photographer will want to work efficiently to check off every pose on the list, and moving guests around can be a challenge. The photographer often has a checklist of shots to get, and once those are finished, the subjects are free to return to the rest of the guests. While you can feel secure that you will get all of the posed pictures you want with this style of wedding photographer, sometimes these photos can lack spontaneity.
Photo-journalistic Photography
A popular option in recent years for wedding photography is the photo-journalistic style. Photojournalism is telling, through photos, the story of the day. The photo-journalistic photographer will convey the sequence of events from the day through the photos that he or she takes. Pictures will not be posed, and people may or may not know they are having their picture taken. Also, many of the photos will be candid, so people may not know their picture is being taken at the time. While the candid photos will lend spontaneity, sometimes candid shots can be less flattering.
“Illustrative,” “Contemporary,” or “Fashion” Photography
This style is the most nebulous of the wedding photography styles; unlike traditional photography, groups are not staged into set poses and given a countdown to the flash. While traditional photography involves formal poses and grouping, this style rarely includes such linear, portrait-style images. However, unlike the spontaneity of the photo-journalistic style, this style does involve intentional composition and lighting design. The main quality of this style of photography is the prominence of the photographer’s artistic aesthetic; this type of photo shoot can be a unique experience, but the photos will have a good dose of the photographer’s own point of view. This style can also involve more time away from the guests.
Some Photographers are quite versatile and incorporate a mixture of different styles into their photography. A good example is Hampshire wedding photographer, Cooper Photography
Being a wedding photographer is a true privilege…
You get asked by a couple whom you have met only once to share in their special day and capture memories which they will treasure forever!
You basically become part of the family for the whole day, I’ve even had some families hugging me and telling me that it was such a pleasure… This is all the little things which make it worth it
That is the part of being a female photographer that I think really suits us to the job of photographing your wedding. We’ve also dreamt of our wedding day’s for like FOREVER, we also get all sentimental about your great grandma and great grandpa attending your wedding etc. When choosing a wedding photographer it is truly important that you click with them, so make a few appointments and go meet with a few professional wedding photographers and take your time to get to know them.

It doesn’t matter if you get married at The Michelangelo Hotel in the heart of Sandton (which is very well designed architecturally)
or if you get married at a small country venue called Sha-Mani country lodge and wedding venue close to Alberton,
or even if you get married at a peaceful venue 20 mins drive from Glenvista called Thornebirds wedding venue and conference venue. The thing which makes a wedding special is the bride and groom,
two people who have found love and who is going to make a promise to each other in front of their friends and families, and in front of God to spend the rest of their lives together looking after each other.
On your wedding day you become accountable for your actions to someone else. Weddings takes months to organise and prepare for (not to mention a lot of money) it is therefor crucial that you take the time and look for a wedding photographer wtih whom you feel comfortable with and will be able to capture your precious memories in a way that is appealing to you.
Make sure that your wedding photographer is credible, with a proper portfolio and website. Ensure that the wedding photography contract and terms and conditions protect you as the couple as well as the photographer.
Also take the time to discuss everything with your prospective photographer and ensure that the person you are meeting with is the person who will actually be taking your photos.
So all in all a wedding is about much more than the flowers, the venue and the dress. I always say to my clients remember:” The only thing that really matters on your wedding day is that you get married”
And if it rains on your wedding day, you will have a long and prosperous wedding… (and if you don’t want it to rain I’ve heard a myth that you should put a broom in the tree and a fork in the ground)

It doesn’t take a scientist to tell you that almost every woman on this planet thinks about their wedding day (gathering ideas and colour schemes) long before the day she actually gets engaged. So right after this I would put Matric Farewell, also a once in a lifetime day for most of us and truly special. It’s all about finding the perfect dress, shoes
and accessories (and of course the gorgeous date
).
Firstly everyone wants to look different, so since the beginning of the year every matric girl pages through magazines and surfs the internet to find ideas for their magical matric farewell dress and whole outfit actually…
You can either have your matric dance dress made (and design it yourself by combining other ideas and creating your own masterpiece), or you can go to hundreds of shops and look
for THE dress…
Samantha ’s mom D.ann contacted Ryan (Louise’s husband, they’re cousins) to photograph her daugter’s matric farewell, and being professional photographers we made sure we reserved the date for this special lady.
On arriving at the house I was introduced to their 7 dogs and 10 birds (from parrots to love birds and even a beautiful bird called
an Eclectis)
Samantha is a dancer, she does Latin-American, Hip-Hop and Freestyle (and others that I can’t remember off the top of my head)
So she has a great physique and her professional make-up artist ( who also does her make-up for dancing competitions) knew exactly how to apply her make-up, eyelash extensions and bronzer
. He even had a “gold) spray for Samantha’s hair, to darken her hair almost the same as bronzer you put on your skin, but just for your hair. He also had Sam stand with her head bent over and sprayed a product onto her hair and let it
“set” to make sure the volume in the curls would stay there the whole night long (probably the next day too…
)
After taking some posed family photos to add to her matric dance photo album we left for Eagle Canyon Golf Estate just off Beyers Naude to meet the stretch Hummer Limousine. I just had to take a few fun “girl” photos in the car, leaning against the car etc…
Sam and Daniel was so impressed with the limo that they insisted that I take a few
pics inside as well.
I had a great time with you guys and I’m sure your evening was fun-filled! Can’t wait to photograph your dance competitions…
