We did a photoshoot for a big corporate client called CFT labels last week. They print self-adhesive labels and that is exactly what we went to photograph in stores in big shopping centres in JHB. They supply labels to a wide variety of clients including ALL-JOY foods, Revlon and Almay.
When doing a commercial photoshoot it is really important to get a clear brief from your client as to what exactly they are looking to use the photos for? Do they want the photos done professionaly in studio or do they want their product photographed in stores and plan your lighting accordingly. Ideally you would want someone from the corporate company with you while photographing so that you can shoot that winning shot that they have in mind…

I know it’s still kind of early to buy babies cribs with all those months still ahead of me. But then again, who can stop an excited mom to be? So, I’m using my time in looking about for the perfect one.
And since it is my first time to buy babies cribs, I kind of learnt a thing or 2 that I’m planning on sharing with you, fellows. These may just be two purchasing I do believe that it’s going to be helpful for everyone.
Safety Standards
Isn’t it nice that the government have just set safety guidelines in shopping for babies cribs? With this available, we can easily pick from the loads of designs and styles available in stores. Your local baby store could fill you in with this, though.
Style and Design
Personally, I liked an antique crib I saw in a shop a fortnight back. weeks ago. It just looked so vintage, my old soul shook in excitement. It did not meet the safety standards, though , failing by having headboard and footboard design cutouts. I failed to get it, naturally, that’s why I’m still on the search for that pretty crib. And you should, too. Our babies’ safety should always come first, right?
Rumor is that with the new safety standards on the way, manufacturers may not be making any brand new drop-side cribs. So don’t go rushing out to buy those drop-side cribs you have been eyeing before they get pulled out yet. Sticking with the drop-gate cribs or those with folding sides will be the best bet for everyone.
Where to Buy?
I know some might be really busy to seek for babies cribs. But with our modern technology, it’s not that hard to buy may you be in any part of the globe. There are a massive number of baby superstores with a wide selection of decisions. Or you may purchase online, just pay more attention to the details and specifics if they match the safety standards.
There is just something spectacular about pregnant women, they are truly beautiful. From the inside and from the outside, maybe it’s because God has chosen them to be the bearer of new life. Because they’re actually facilitating a miracle.
Have you ever taken the time to think about being a sacred vessel for 9months (that’s almost an entire year…) of eating extremely healthy ( cos everything you eat and drink, or don’t eat and drink, for that matter will influence the little human growing inside of you. No drinking, not even a sip of wine as always when you get home from work. having to buy new clothes cos eventually your tummy just gets bigger and bigger (ok, not that shopping has ever been a problem for any woman
)
The feeling of seeing that baby’s face on the monitor at the gynaecologist’s office and hearing the little heartbeat as fast as a steamtrain is just one helluva indescribable feeling (and I wasn’t even the pregnant one, my sister in law was expecting a little boy) All of a sudden this tiny little baby who is to become part of your family becomes a real person…
Being pregnant is a big part of your life and is in actual fact the first steps to bonding with your little one growing inside of your tummy. The baby actually gets used to your voice, so it will instantly recognise you as it’s mother. Unborn babies are extremely sensitive to ‘outside’ stimuli. For instance it has been proven that if you play sports while being pregnant, there is a bigger chance of your child being very active because of the adrenalin rush. Even simple things like music can stimulate the brain activity.
If you have the privilege of sharing a special bond with someone who is pregnant ask them if they mind when you put your hand on their tummy and feel what it feels like when that little baby inside her swollen tummy kicks in response to hearing their father’s voice or soothing music.
Even though being pregnant and becoming a new mother carries huge responsibility that might sometimes feel overwhelming, remember that God knows how strong you are and will never give you something that is too big to handle. Being a mother is a full-time 24/7 job which includes hard work and perseverance but it is also the highest paying job in the universe…
And if you find yourself with an inquisitive little toddler, use this special time of being pregnant to make your bond even stronger. Include them in activities like choosing new clothes or toys for their new brother or sister, preparing baby’s room and so forth. If they bath with you at night ask them to help you wash the your tummy and get them used to the idea of sharing things. Little children often find it hard to associate with the concept of pregnancy, but how can we expect of them to understand it when we don’t even fully understand it ourselves…?
Talk to your toddler and explain it again and again, and you’ll soon come to the realization that small kids think little brothers or sisters can be ordered and they expect their new sibling to be able to walk and talk the instant they enter this new unknown world..
As women photographers we are confident that we are able to capture the emotion you feel for this little baby growing inside of you. I never knew you could love someone you have never met, so much. We offer private Maternity Photoshoot for you and your partner (and precious little ones) in a comfortably warmed studio environment. The perfect time to have your maternity photographs taken is between 34-37 weeks. It’s all about the tummy I always say. And remember even though you might feel a little big, every single pregnant woman is beautiful as they are truly facilitating a miracle…!

11th Jan 2009 – shopping & Epcot
Yesterday was a beautiful day – we decided to take it easy so we slept late. By the time we were up and ready to go out, it was time for Demi to sleep again, so we decided to go shopping while Demi slept. This gave us a lot of time to spend alone with the boys and just chat and play games….
We played body parts and animals in the car (you choose something and then the rest of the people have to ask you questions and try to guess what it is you have chosen… only problem is, Mikey keeps changing it if you guess correctly and you can never win! which also means that you have to just keep asking him questions over and over again until you say enough and you quit and he declares victory!!! He is such a Diesel!!!
Anyway, on the way home, Jamie said: “Did you know mom, that Disney world is the only place in the world where dreams come true?” We explained to him that that is not true and that dreams always come true if you work hard enough on them and never give up. We told him that bringing our family to Disney World on holiday had always been a dream of ours and that we had worked hard on our dream, in South Africa, to make it come true. And we were patient and we never gave up.
That was all he needed to get inspired and the next thing he shouted that he
was going to be an artist and make movies when he grows up!!! He was so inspired that we had to go straight to Publix to buy him pencils and paper for him to draw his pictures…. He thinks he will work on them all the time and then he will have about 100 movies by the time he grows up. He also thinks he will design some video games…
He started telling me all his ideas and different story lines and we discussed different characters and Mikey really enjoyed that, so he thinks he might help Jamie with the movies!!! Sounds like he Disney brothers, Roy and Walt! Watch out Disney, here comes the Diesels!!!
Then they said how much fun they were having. I asked them what they like about America – this is
what Jamie said: “the sweets, the candy, the rides, the putt putt, Disney World, the psp games,
EVERYTHING!!! It’s the best place in the whole world and I wish we could live here!”
Mikey added: “and the chocolate milk and the water parks and the toys!”
They are so beautiful and I am so proud of them (even though they drive me crazy most of the time and are very naughty and push me all the time too) – there’s the universal balance Dr Demartini always talks about….
For supper, we had some steak and veges and brown rice (which was actually white??) It was so good to have veges and healthy food!
In the evening, Ryan & I went to Epcot to watch “Illuminations!” Every night the Epcot skies expolde with lasers, fireworks and music as “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” glitters, gleams and glows over World Showcase Lagoon in perfectly synchronised splendour. It’s the fitting finale to a day of fun!!!
It was incredible and we loved it! So much so, that Ryan has gone back tonight to take the boys to see it! Just a boys night out (and the girls are staying home – Demi & I were sleeping and playing and now she is back in bed) I am sure the boys are having the time of their lives!!!
“The shoot was so much fun thanks to Louise and Riani who managed to get smiles from everyone including a very tetchy 10 month old and a sulky 6 year old!
We had so many beautiful photos, it was impossible to choose –we ended up getting all of them!”
