Having a wedding is extremely special, and knowing it will be recorded by professional photographers, would be the one thing that would give me peace of mind. We understand that rational worry, and at our studio, being trained in all aspects of professional photography, but also having a few years of working with wedding couples and knowing the big organizational event happening that is their responsibility, we would like to lessen that, by assuring you of an amazing product, which will be the only thing left to have as visual reminder of the day.
We use professional equipment, so know that low-lighting conditions can be worked in. Our cameras also give a very conditioned pixel ratio, to make enlargements possible, but to not jeopardize on any quality, making colours pop, and detail stand out.
A wedding has so many aspects to it, and it takes the whole day, or getting dressed, making sure the little ones get dressed, getting to the actual service, having the couple- and family shots done, and having the actual ceremony with a great reception afterwards. Many things happen, and we’re there, from moment one, to the last. We have had lovely reviews for our wedding photos, and we know we pour our hearts into the work of it. Enjoy your wedding day at full, is what we say, and leave the recoding of lifelong memories, to us.

Weddings was, and will always be special occasions, and we know here at Louise Diesel Photography, that nothing says it better, than the pictures taken of that day that be the thing, that last forever. So much planning goes into a wedding, it might be months or even years, and all couples after having gotten married says the same thing – the day goes by so fast. You might not even remember many of the details that went into it, and those were the things that gave you sleepless nights. To know your photos are taken care of, is more of a blessing – it’s the assurance, that those little things that you carefully chose and constructed to be part of the day’s theme or atmosphere, and the big things like all the family members in their best and looking proud, will all be captivated, by professional photographers, with professional equipment.
The memory of it, will always stay with you, but when looking back at the photos, you will be taken back to that day when you were in some magic spell, only having eyes for the person who was to be your spouse, and what a lovely day it was with all its trimmings and the people that means the most to you.
Make sure to have your day photographed by professional photographers, people that have a passion for this art form, and that apply the knowledge of their high-end equipment, together with a creative way of putting together the best recollection of your stunning wedding day. Us here at Louise Diesel Photography, understand that very well, and will make sure to have you thinking of your day, with joy in all the years to come.

Having your function recorded by professional photographers, makes the memory of it, and the effort put into it all, so much more special and worth it. Event photography is somewhat more “raw” as it is moments captured right there and then, moments that could probably never be recreated, and usually these are events are once in a lifetime situations, like an important conference, or a 21st birthday party. On those evening or during those events one thinks of about everything but taking some photographs, and to have a professional take them, take that burden off of the organizer, hostess or the person who’s party it actually is.
We use professional cameras at the studio that are able to handle low lighting conditions, and we use external flashes to assist us in the correct exposure of all sorts of lighting conditions. The light in conference halls, restaurants etc are usually low, and we would want to expose especially skin tones perfectly as to not have it look unnatural.
Having the photos taken by professional photographers, such as us here at Louise Diesel Photography, is a good investment as it will definitely have you look at them in years to come, and have only good memories remain instead of a finger right in the middle of aunt Merle’s face, or red eyes.

As professional photographers we are fortunate enough to see a lot of kids grow up right before our eyes.
Our first meeting with your little one is when they are spending all of their time growing in your tummy.
Personally I love taking pregnancy photos as there is just something so magical about the miracle of being
pregnant and bringing a child into this world.
There is no thing quite as beautiful as a newborn. Taking photos
of newborn babies is like walking into an alternate reality. The studio is normally really warm to keep them
comfortable and the lights are turned down to allow them to open those little eyes… I absolutely adore the
look every new daddy gives their baby sleeping in their arms!
Then a very interesting stage is baby photography
at roundabout 6-8 months, when your little one can just just sit up by themselves and just love being the centre
of attention. When you tickle them they tend to laugh from their bellies and there is no sound quite as beautiful…
I think toddlers are just about the most interesting little subjects I have ever met
They are full of energy
and ask about a million and one questions every day. They love to challenge you, but as soon as you start speaking
in their langauge (favourite stories, Barney songs and a marshmallow as treat at the end of the toddler’s photos)
pretty soon you will have them laughing, singing and playing along to everything you want them to do. Taking
photos of toddlers are feels like a gym session but seeing the beautiful results will make it all worth it…

Before explaining Exposure Value (EV for short), it helps to know what Light Value (LV, for short) means. When you find something (whether it’s a person, a landscape, or even a ninja), there are (generally speaking) two main levels of light you need to deal with. The first is the average amount of light in the area (we call this luminance or brightness), and the second is the amount of light bouncing off of the subject (also known as Light Value, or LV for short).

When you want to take a picture, the different things in your scene will absorb light, reflect light, or even block it and cause shadows. This will cause some things to appear brighter than others. This is what we call contrast. For example, imagine a person standing on a sandy beach. The water will be one level of brightness, the sand will be brighter, and the sky will be even brighter. The shadow from the person will be darker. This represents a higher-than-normal contrast scene.
There is a common standard we use to measure light in a given situation. We use a scale ranging from 0 (a dim interior) to 18 or so (a super bright interior). Many professional photographers will go into a given location and think, “This is a night club, so it’s around LV-5,” or, “It’s sunset outside, so it’s LV-10ish,” or even, “It’s a bright, sunny, cloudless day, so it’s LV-16ish.” Like measuring temperature, LV levels are a standard. Try freaking out a photographer (the guy with the big lens at the wedding) by saying, “Hey, it’s LV-16 outside, but there are clouds coming so it’s going to drop to LV-14 by noon!” For more info, google “Light Value Chart” for a list of examples where you may encounter different LV levels.
Now that we understand LV, let’s focus on the camera (nice pun, right?). When your camera takes a picture (let’s assume you are in automatic mode and shooting at ISO-100), it goes through a series of calculations to determine what the aperture and speed should be in order for the main subject in that picture to be reproduced as a middle tone of gray.

These settings are known as Exposure Value. It uses middle gray because it allows the camera to get as much of the dark and light tones as possible while keeping the subject visible in the picture. It’s like shooting a dart as a bulls-eye and aiming for the center: The camera can only allow so much light and dark in at the same time (in relation, the edges of the dart board), so it aims to make sure the subject is at the center of that light scale.
Another example: If you are at the beach and it’s LV-15 outside and you whip out your camera to take a picture of a absolutely nothing, the camera says to itself, “Oh my gosh, it’s bright out here. I mean, it’s a whopping LV-15! I am going to increase my shutter speed (let less light ina) and shrink my aperture (also letting less light in) to a certain setting to make sure that I capture all the range of light in this picture.” Those settings (aperture, shutter speed, and ISO) combined are called the Exposure Value for the overall picture. It will probably assume the sand is gray, and as such, because the sun is so much brighter than the sand, the sun appears completely white as well as most of the sky (vs. blue). Whereas if you took a picture of the sun, it would appear as gray and the sand would appear as black because it’s no longer in the range allowed by the camera. (P.S. Don’t aim at the sun or you will zap your eye and render it useless).
As a first time client getting introduced to taking
studio photo’s of my daughter and myself, I didn’t know
what to expect and was rather quite nervous. From
the minute we met Riani, she made us feel so comfortable …...
