A couple shoot is one of the most funnest (for lack of a better word), shoots we get to do in the studio. We get to work with two people who already are crazy about each other, so the chemistry isn’t hard to whip up, and they usually know each other pretty well, o they have this interesting way, of making each other smile and giggle.
I personally, LOVE a couple shoot, it makes for great photos. With all our clients we ask them to be as creative as they can, and to bring along anything they feel are symbolic, or anything they want to in-corporate in the shoot, or just any items and objects they like. One lovely benefit of staying in such a beautiful country such as South Africa is the immense diversity of people we live with. It’s such a pleasure to see people stay true to who they are, and bring traditional wear or attire; we welcome such spontaneity and use what you brought as best we can. We try and give each client a unique set of photos, and urge everyone to bring whatever you might feel comfortable in, whether it’s biker-chaps and jackets, or musical instruments. We shall be sure to use it creatively, and still have loads of fun in your shoot.

Having professional photos taken is a memory you will treasure. We have had so many moms in who tell me that right after they actually miss their tummy… (believe it or not) and soon after a few months you start forgetting how it felt. Put your trust in us to make you look your absolute best with our guiding poses and fantastic lighting
Some info for your pregnancy photoshoot:
When is the best time to have photos taken of your pregnancy? We always recommend having your photoshoot when you are between 33 – 36 weeks pregnant, your tummy is already round and full but you are note at the point of being uncomfortable.
Is dad allowed to come along and what should we wear? Of course dad can come and share in this special memento, we’d love to have him there. They always bring a beautiful element of masculinity into these special photos. Dark clothing works best, because we shoot on a black background and this will cause your clothing to “half-merge” with tha background placing the focus on your tummy, the bond and excitement you and your partner share and the placement of your hands.
Can we bring some props along? Most definitely, it really adds that something extra as these are items you will see time and again in your house and recollect your pregnancy and the shoot, and if it’s something sentimental or that granny knitted, we will add it into your photos with pleasure.
We truly look forward to sharing this beautiful experience with you!

Newborn babies are always such a pleasure to photograph! Some are social butterflies, who just wants to look at everyone and all the goings on and others are slow to warm-up or settled babies. Each one of these little individuals needs to be photograhed in a slightly different way to ensure the best results, which are beautiful photos.
This is why we spend a little time chatting with mom and dad right before we start the shoot to try and determine what kind of personality type your little one is so as to make everything run smoother. All people has a “filter” of theings which we can tolerate during the day – for instance cars driving past your house in the street don’t “bother” you, you are aware of it but your brain filters it and tells you it’s not something you need to pay attention to (and this filter is influenced by all our senses hearing, sight, touch, smell etc) When little babies are born they need to learn how to filter out “unimportant stimuli” So they are extremely sensitive and don’t have a very high tolerance.
This is why it’s best to bring baby for their newborn shoot in the morning (as they haven’t been awake for long) and they haven’t been overstimulated as yet. They tend to be much calmer and relaxed them. And if we need to give them a short feed of 20mins or so, no problem as we do understand that they need this just to settle them.
So we know what they need and how to work with them , so that you have nothing to worry about and lovely photos to look forward to!

We had a Mom visit our studio once, who has three children, and with each of them she did their own special shoot when they reached a certain age. We had amazing fun with this little boy in the studio, because he had such an interactive personality, and did everyone we wanted him to; he smiled and jumped and giggled, and was a pleasure to photograph.
Mom is such a lovely lady, and she had fun as well, enjoying little one’s crazy tricks and obviously used to a boy’s wacky nature. We always try and shoot a family’s shoot, as modern and unique as possible, because you still want to look back at your photos in a few years’ time, and remember an amazing time, not that it was stiff and quite posed. It’s our strive to give our clients good, quality products, with it being shot correctly from moment one, with good colour and contrast, and edited in such a way as well.
Children have this ability to grow way faster than we think, and before we know it, they are taller, have a lot more to say, and they had completely changed from the babies they once were. Enjoying their growing-up, by having a shoot done of their milestones will let you remember their childhood with fondness.

There probably isn’t a more amazing thing, than seeing two people getting married and the whole day they are just instinctively and very in synch, smile at each other, and you can feel the feeling they share, literally. When it is just so right between two people, it’s a pleasure to photograph their wedding. This wedding was both Demi-, and Stefan’s second wedding, and it was such a pleasant relief to have both of them very chilled and relaxed, and having their special day again, without any drama or anxiety.
Demi was such vision, in her silver dress, she truly looked exquisite and Stefan was the man in control no nerves at all, or perhaps he hid them really well. When we had our time with them during couple photos, and asked them to look at each other and talk to each other is if we weren’t there, they naturally joined in conversation with each other, as they had already known each for years, and their wedding just marked their big step, formalizing the bind they share so closely. Both Demi and Stefan have children and they truly were a treat, as they enjoyed the day about as much as their parents did, making jokes with each other and posing like professionals.
We wish Demi and Stefan just the best, because they have such a great foundation, are very much at peace with each other, enjoy each other’s company, and love each other sincerely.

“T” wanted to unsurely know, constantly during her boudoir photo shoot with us, if the idea of posing in underwear, wasn’t ridiculous … We kept on assuring her no, it really isn’t, not only because we were seeing that she was bringing a wonderful alluring side from within her to the front, but also, because this wasn’t Louise Diesel Photography studio’s first boudoir shoot, it is something we have come to enjoy very much, as so many women take the step, and come shoot with us.
“T”, has such a beautiful line to her body, is quite tall, and took well to our guidance. The wonderful thing about photography, is that it isn’t limited to only one thing, it can literally capture ANYTHING, and knowing that pieces of these women’s courage and beauty could be caught on camera, is what makes us love the technology of photography, and then knowing that these women could then go, and present these photos as gifts to their husbands, fiancé’s or boyfriends, or even just keep it for themselves as a reminder of how stunning they are, something we immediately saw through the camera’s lens.
We would sometimes see the same woman who have had a boudoir shoot with us, bring her family in for a family shoot at a next opportunity, and it’s amazing to think how versatile we are, to switch from these stunning sirens, to mom’s and businesswomen who takes care of her family as well. It’s a great pleasure to photograph all these women, and a boudoir shoot, as a wonderful idea, for any woman, to show off her beauty.

Boudoir shoots are nothing new to us here at Louise Diesel Photography. It seems to be a trend that is taking by storm, and we quite enjoy the new development. Boudoir photography is all about a mood being set, so for the most part we use a one-lighting set-up – it immediately draws the attention to the subject, and as it is such an intimate shoot, it is about the individual beauty of each women who come to us, and makes this brave decision to have it done.

We have a tried-and-tested set-up for lighting, and some stunning props we use to add texture and some substance, but we are amazed that each and every boudoir shoot, turns out different. We commend all women taking the very liberated step to pose in underwear, but we have had the wonderful satisfaction of having women coming back to us, saying – “Wow, is that really me?” These make great gifts for husbands, fiancées or boyfriends, and although most women start the shoot off very inhibited, they suddenly bloom into very appealing creatures before our eyes.

All boudoir shoots are a pleasure to photograph, and a lot of fun to edit, as we can get very creative, by adding some effects to the beauty of the shot. We would recommend any woman to try our boudoir shoots at Louise Diesel Photography, it’s an intimate, beautiful, liberating- and fun experience for any women, and one we as photographers, love to do.

As a first time client getting introduced to taking
studio photo’s of my daughter and myself, I didn’t know
what to expect and was rather quite nervous. From
the minute we met Riani, she made us feel so comfortable …...
