Living with twin 7 year-old boys and a little whirlwind of 2 and a half I have come to understand why some people are hesitant to bring their little ones in for a photoshoot.  I often hear people mention :”I’ll bring them when they’re a little

bit older…” But I am here to tell you that this is when they are at their cutest.  We understand that they are busy, never sit still and are sometimes just naughty, but hey they’re just little kids.  We also know that if you tickle them enough you are bound to get beautiful shots (and maybe laugh a little too) or playing peek-a-boo can coax most shy toddlers out

from behind the couch so bring them along to our studio for some fun Lifestyle family photography.  We love to photograph toddlers and kiddies so come along to our studio and find out why it’s all about the experience! (and gorgeous photos of course :-)   )

I have met so many people who want to find the “perfect wedding photographer” and the fact of the matter is that there is no one “perfect wedding photographer” But here are a few important few guidelines to help you choose the perfect wedding photographer for you:

1 – Go onto the internet and search for wedding photographers, have a look at their photo galleries (not just on wedding but a few)  If you like what you see add them onto your short list.  You can do the same thing by asking your friends and relatives who did their wedding photos and then taking a look at their portfolios.

2 – Once you have compiled a short list get into contact with these photographers and ask them if they are still available on the date and for them to send through a quote.  This will also help you to narrow the list down even more with photographers who are in your price range.

3 – Set-up an appointment for you and your hubby to be to go and meet your top 3 photographers.
Use this meeting to get to know them better.  Do they make you feel comfortable and at ease?  ( This is very important especially on your wedding day)  Ask to see more of their portfolios, and take special care in looking at the weather

conditions, are the photos which were taken in sunny weather much better than the ones taken in rainy weather?  This will give you an idea of their skills and abilities.  A good photographer should be able to handle most weather conditions equally well.  Are they helpful and prepared for the meeting ( this will give you an idea of the way they normally work) and take your time to find you a few things like :

-          do you get a high-res cd with your photos (printable)?

-          What do they charge per hour extra for overtime?

-          Do they bring back-up equipment to your wedding just in case?

-          Are they bringing an assistant along?

-          How long does it take before you can get your wedding photos back?

4 – Make sure that you book your perfect wedding photographer 6 months before the actual wedding day.  I can’t really explain why, but especially in summer there are certain dates which just have a lot of enquiries and couples wanting to book it.

PS – If your photographer mentions that it might be a good idea to have your wedding ceremony held 1 or 2 hours earlier, it is because they are worried that there will not be enough natural light left to ensure that you get breathtaking wedding photos (not because they are bossy J  )

Ahhh, what can I say about newborn babies that can ever do them justice :-)   The saying that newborn babies are newborn and pure never really meant something to me, but once you start spending a lot of time with them you notice that they are a little bit like I imagine angels to be.  Gorgeous and you can’t stop looking at them (and most of the time

they smell really nice too)   Newborn baby photography is our speciality, we put a little bit of our souls into each and every newbron photograph that we take.  They leave an imprint on my life which will stay with me forever.  I really do

love  taking photos of newborn babies and I can’t wait to one day photograph my own newborn angels (might as well install studio lighting into their bedroom  :-) )

It seems to me that there is a lot of parent out there who planned to have their babies in 2010 (soccer babies :-)   ) Since this year has started we have been doing a lot of maternity photography as well as newborn photography.  Just the other day I had Mom, Dad & baby in the studio dresses in their soccer kits and baby wear soccer socks… too cute!  Taking photos when you are pregnant is not always something pregnant moms are sure they want to do.  We are women photographers so we have an understanding to how you feel about your changin body.  With creative lighting and flattering props (and just a tad of photoshop magic) we will make you look your absolute best…  So for more info contact us on 011 869 7759 or send us an email on info@louisedieselphotography.co.za

To be a professional model you have to start with a photographic portfolio.  Various photos of yourself, close up face shots, full length etc.  These can be done at any professional photographic studio.  When you have your photos professionally done, it shows your agents that you are serious about your work.  Take Jamie-Lee for instance…  She is young and

very photogenic, she loves fashion and wants to design clothing some day so she thought it’d be a good place to start with the people who would be wearing the clothing items (now that makes sense)

Facebook, we all know it and we’re all on it.  So when someone is looking you up on facebook I promise you the first thing they look at is your profile

photo… (and don’t even try to tell my you don’t do that)  It’s a fact.   So why not invest some money in yourself and have a photoshoot done with a photographer just so that you can have gorgeous “modelling” photos on

your profile?  Think about it, this is how the world (who doesn’t know you) see you.  A photoshoot with a professional photographer guarantee you beautiful photos, you get to choose the style and look which you want to go for and voila, awesome pics you can use for facebook and everything else.
