I love any type of couple photoshoot, whether in the studio or on location, and this couple, was such a joy to photograph. These photos were taken at what is called a Walima, the event held after the day of their actual wedding ceremony. They had such an exhaustive day the day before, but still kept such bright smiles for us, and made for great photos.

With couple shots, we don’t even have to try very hard for the spark to be present, especially after the couple had just gotten married, as the electricity just comes naturally. We get to do such great events and photos, and this particular event was an amazing cultural experience for us, and we got to enjoy all the lovely eastern ladies’ colourful attire.

We have photographed all sorts of different events and functions, and we always get to meet such a great variety of people, whom we get to connect with in such special ways. The family who hires us was extremely friendly, and we got to learn and see new things.

Outdoor Couples Photos

We had a Mom visit our studio once, who has three children, and with each of them she did their own special shoot when they reached a certain age. We had amazing fun with this little boy in the studio, because he had such an interactive personality, and did everyone we wanted him to; he smiled and jumped and giggled, and was a pleasure to photograph.

Mom is such a lovely lady, and she had fun as well, enjoying little one’s crazy tricks and obviously used to a boy’s wacky nature. We always try and shoot a family’s shoot, as modern and unique as possible, because you still want to look back at your photos in a few years’ time, and remember an amazing time, not that it was stiff and quite posed. It’s our strive to give our clients good, quality products, with it being shot correctly from moment one, with good colour and contrast, and edited in such a way as well.

Children have this ability to grow way faster than we think, and before we know it, they are taller, have a lot more to say, and they had completely changed from the babies they once were. Enjoying their growing-up, by having a shoot done of their milestones will let you remember their childhood with fondness.

The real life studio

Having a good portfolio shoot done, doesn’t necessarily have to be for the means of becoming a model. Many people do not have that dreams, but do wish for great photos of themselves. I will always go out on the argument that anyone can be a great model with some good lighting and great coaching. Very few people are very natural and at ease in front of the camera, and it is the photographer’s responsibility to a degree to make your subject comfortable with the fact that a lens will be in their face. It helps if one has a natural inclination to photographers taken of you, and also a good photographer that is able to guide you in a way that will enhance your features and make the best of your body type.

The trick of any good photograph lies in the lighting of it, because light form a certain angle can either spoil or add magic to a photo. The human shape is so identifiable that even in silhouette it can be recognizes and the viewer will know what it is.

Always try and add dimension to your subject’s space in the image, by either making the background blur and having them stand out, or by creating a rim light, highlighting their outline and shape. There are quite a few ways of adding depth and dimension, and at the end of the day, it can be a huge amount of fun playing around with all that is available to you, to bring that out.

Model Photography

There probably isn’t a more amazing thing, than seeing two people getting married and the whole day they are just instinctively and very in synch, smile at each other, and you can feel the feeling they share, literally. When it is just so right between two people, it’s a pleasure to photograph their wedding. This wedding was both Demi-, and Stefan’s second wedding, and it was such a pleasant relief to have both of them very chilled and relaxed, and having their special day again, without any drama or anxiety.

Demi was such vision, in her silver dress, she truly looked exquisite and Stefan was the man in control no nerves at all, or perhaps he hid them really well. When we had our time with them during couple photos, and asked them to look at each other and talk to each other is if we weren’t there, they naturally joined in conversation with each other, as they had already known each for years, and their wedding just marked their big step, formalizing the bind they share so closely.  Both Demi and Stefan have children and they truly were a treat, as they enjoyed the day about as much as their parents did, making jokes with each other and posing like professionals.

We wish Demi and Stefan just the best, because they have such a great foundation, are very much at peace with each other, enjoy each other’s company, and love each other sincerely.

Wedding Pictures

Before the glamorous affair of a beautiful wedding, there is the couple that first has to go through all of life’s loves and laughs to find themselves in the relationship that they have. Couple shoots are also enormously fun shoots, because two adult people, being very much in love and acting all gooey around each other is quite amusing. It still is in that stage where you only enjoy each other, you have some fun together, you take trips together, and get to know one another better.

We have had the opportunity to photograph numerous couples, and with any other shoot, we always strive to give our clients the best product possible, and when we shoot couple we also use flattering lighting and interesting poses. Their relationship started with some mutual infatuations, growing into strong feelings, and that connection is so evident through-out the shoot that it’s hard to miss.

Couples photo session

Many events frame our lives, from since when we were little kids to well into our adult and elderly life, and it’s these times that make for such great memories, many time they only come around once like a golden anniversary or a baptism, and with such event, usually a lot of planning is done to ensure a great function. Many times a lot of effort went into décor or entertainment, and the host or hostess usually runs around like a mad person during the day or evening, to make sure everything goes according to plan, that everyone has a great time. With some parties there is sometimes a theme to it, which makes for a big amount of fun, and with some corporate events, there is a set schedule to the evening where speeches and perhaps a toast is concerned.

Capturing all of that, making sure to get the essence of the evening, are we, the photographers, making sure we get every ounce of the action, using professional equipment to handle low-lighting situations which is usually the case with functions held in some halls, leaving you to relax the evening and enjoy the festivities.

Corporate events sometimes come around a few times of year, and we would like to be a part of the image of your company, making sure we photograph your event or function the best way possible.

Event Photography

Our studio was invited to photograph the premiere of model and actress’ new movie, Ek Lief Jou, at Monte Casino. It’s a story about a singer played by Afrikaans singer Kurt Darren, with Christina’s character playing his fiancée in the movie. Dirk (Darren) has to find a new face for the female lead in his music video, and he ends up falling in love with the lady he chooses, played by Belgian actress Ilse de Vis.

The evening has many a celebrity and their plus-one’s being around, and the production company, Makadi Entertainment Ventures, made the conference room at Monte Casino come alive with interesting décor and snacks.

Miss Christina, stylishly clad in a white dress and black coat, was her usual sensual self with guests, and Willemien, her ever-present sister greeted the viewers with a smile, and made sure everything was going smoothly. Willemien is also one of the film’s producers along with Anton Ernst, director of Makadi Entertainment Ventures.

Ek Lief Jou, is one of quite some South African films released recently, showing our artists won’t stand back for any overseas production. The film is Kurt Darren’s debut as actor, and he enjoyed the experience so much, he is planning more films in the future. The film showed Christina’s versatility again, going from actress to model with ease.

A very good production, we hope to be part of such a great team’s future brainchildren.
