“If it wasn’t for dogs, some people would never go for a walk.” – anon – isn’t this just so true :-)

“Don’t make the mistake of treating your dogs like humans, or they’ll treat you like dogs.” ~ Martha Scott – yes, you said it…

“If you don’t own a dog, at least one, there is not necessarily anything wrong with you, but there may be something wrong with your life.”
Roger Caras

“The great pleasure of a dog is that you make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, he will make a fool of himself too.”
~ Samuel Butler

Experimenting with photoshop textures When I first started working with photoshop I couldn’t understand how people can make beautiful works of art with all the different effects and tools. But now that I have been in the industry for years I understand that you have to work in different layers

(and play around with the opacity of every layer) I went in search of photoshop textures on the web this morning and got textures so beautiful they made my heart race  So I took my time playing around with different textures on different photos and these are the cool effects that I got out of it. As you can see there is a million variations that you can use. Anything from just changing the background to altering the whole look and feel of the image. The choice is yours!

“Even when freshly washed and relieved of all obvious confections, children tend to be sticky.”
~Fran Lebowitz

“A hare meeting a lioness one day said reproachfully, “I have always a great number of children, while you have but one or two now and then.”
The lioness replied, “It is true, but my one child is a lion.””

“Babies are such a nice way to start people”

Jessica & Henry got married at the most beautiful little church in Alberton on the 10th of April. It was one of the times where we were photographing close to home and it made the

whole wedding even more special as we photographed at places which I drive past regularly. It’s strange how we miss beauty that is amongst us every day. We get so used to seeing something (or someone) every single day that we forget to notice the great things. This is the most challenging aspect of being a photographer, looking at scenery like it is the first time

you have seen it and photographing it in a way other people have never seen it. The lovely bride “J” was looking slightly nervous when I met her at the salon having her wedding make-up done and then something really cool happened. The wedding march played on the radio…!!! Can you believe it?! After that she was relaxed and mentioned that she is ready. Getting

ready was a breeze along with shooting photos of the lovely bride and her bridesmaids before her wedding. I will never forget their church ceremony, when they sang the “Onse Vader” I got Goosebumps and just had to hold back the tears. (Typical woman I know but I know that these powerful emotions are the things that we are able to feel and therefor capture

perfectly) Being a professional wedding photographer it was up to me to find the ideal location for wedding photography and so we went to the famaous “Meyer Plaas” in Alberton to have photos taken in the fields and in at their historic house. The wedding was beautiful and filled with so much love and it will always stay in my mind. Henry & Jessica ek hoop julle is altyd so verlief en geseend!

What do all four of these people have in common…?  They are all models with awesome modelling portfolio’s.  Having professional modelling photos done by a professional

photographer can make all the difference.  It shows that you are willing to put time and effort into your career.  You don’t always to have to use the same model photographer seeing

that they all have their own style and way of shooting your model portfolio.  Choose outfits that suit your “look” and make the most out of your photoshoot.  Tell the photographer

about your style and who you want to be, it always help if you have an idea of it.  Then lastly, just go for it.  It’s okay to be shy for the first 5 minutes of your modelling shoot but then you must own it to become a true top model!

When I look at these photos I can still hear the girls giggling…  It made me think of my sister and I when we were that age.  You are laughing so much that your stomach hurts and yet

you cannot explain to any person why :-)   The “H”s made me think of my family, a lot of people with their own beautiful language.  They have three conversations at a time and yet

everyone knows exactly what is going on.  This bunch was so lively I decided that the best way to photograph them would be Lifestyle photography here at the real life studio.  So we

made jokes, had everyone lying on top of each other and little “M” doing his signature model move (lying on his stomach next to whoever was being photographed… :-)   )  For the Real Life Studio experience come and join us for a morning of family fun and laughter ( and gorgeous photos)
