Taking photos of newborn babies are as instinctive as breathing to us… We absolutely adore these little angels
We look at them and just see so much latent potential!
The best way to describe a newborn photoshoot is to put a sign stating: ”management” on the door. The whole photoshoot revolves around these tiny little babies. The studio is temperature controlled especially to keep their little bodies at the correct temperature and they are fed whenever they get niggly. I know that they might jave just eaten but trust me, if you give them a feed in between they will settle right down with the cutest most content look on their faces…
One thing we have learned at our studio whilst photographing newborn babies, is that taking photos of newborn babies takes a lot of patience. New parents are often still getting to know their little one, and our studio is their first trip out into the big world with their newest addition. So we spend time getting everyone comfortable and settled, to ensure that we get the best possible newborn photos.
We just can’t get enough of these little ones, they normally look like their fathers (9/10 times actually) and our theory is that it’s to make dad fall in love with his baby as soon as they lay eyes on them. Let’s face it, it is easier for a woman to fall in love with their baby (any baby for that matter) as we have the whle maternal instinct thing going for us.

Over the years I have learnt that 9 out of 10 newborn babies (boy or girl) will look like theirs fathers. I have now come to the conclusion that this is nature’s way to ensure new daddies fall in love with their newborns the moment they lay eyes on them (How can you not love something so tiny who looks exactly like you…)
There is a very special bond a man shares with his new baby. Looking at these photos you will see it with your own eyes. Have you ever seen a guy handle anything so tenderly? Oh yes, and the daddies are normally the ones with the magic touch J
The hat in the photo is Molise’s “DADDY HAT”, that is what he calls it. He asked me if we could please maybe take just one photo with his hat and I love the fact that it came out so beautifully. Bringing props to your photoshoot is what truly personalizes your photoshoot. Every time they see this hat they will picture this newborn photo in their mind…
We recommend that you try and bring your newborn baby for their newborn photos usually within the first 10 days. This is when they are still little sleepy heads and we can “mould” them any which way as they are kind of like Jello (You will know exactly what I mean if you have ever tried to hold a newborn baby against your chest so that you can still see their faces…)

The birth of a baby is a daily occurence… The difference is that it feels like nothing short of a miracle when this tiny little baby is yours.
Baby Matthew is a few weeks old and he has already grown quite a lot. He might look tiny in his daddy’s hand but “G” is broad shouldered and about 1.9 metres tall. So compared to mom baby is actually really big.

Having newborn baby photos taken might seem like a daunting prospect when you are still figuring out what your newborn baby needs from you after just a few days, but it is definitely worth it!!!
This world of ours really is a small place… Today I photographed Le Roux who is 12 days old. His mom coached me at Hockey when I was in primary school and she was also in matric
when I was in std 6 at High school. Can you believe it?! This little newbirn baby is absolutely gorgeous with his head of hair and beautiful eyes. Clearly he is the apple of daddy’s eye.

This was really an interesting newborn baby photoshoot, Le Roux’s name is mom’s maiden name, how creative
Guys congratulations on your darling boy and I hope there will be many more interesting years to come!

For some inexplicable reason woman can’t help but feel attracted to newborn babies. I believe this is what helps make our newborn baby photos so beautiful! They are little miracles with so much potential, a clean slate waiting to be filled wait adventures. Newborn babies

represent love in it’s purest form. Little C is exactly one week and a day old on the day she was photographed. And she may look tiny but she already weighs 3.8 kg’s. If you have ever watched a couple looking at their newborn child you will notice that there is such tenderness involved in every little touch of the hand or whisper that everything will be okay. That is what we capture in the photos of your precious baby photos. I

could just sit and stare at newborn babies all day, they stir something unknown deep in my heart. It could almost be explained as we use our maternal instincts to photograph these beautiful miracles. I would recommend bringin baby in when they are between 3-7 days old. They have

this newborn look along with the cutest little wrinkles on their arms and legs. Try and schedule a provisional shoot for your newborn so that you already have contact details and addresses so if baby comes early and it feels like chaos has taken over your life at least one more thing is taken care of
