When Louise-Anne finally called to say the twins had now been born, we were so excited. Especially Riani loves to do newborn photos, and we had such a gorgeous Maternity shoot with Louise-Anne and Cassidy that we just knew, photographing the twins would only produce amazing images.
They were completely chilled and relaxed, and slept through the whole shoot. Mom had such a great hand on them, one even wondered how she seemed so in control of two babies, and that that should actually be the norm. Daddy is such a tall, big guy, that we enjoyed posing them with him just to show their small size in comparison.
A very good time to bring newborns for their own shoot is at roundabout 10-12 days, so closely two weeks old. A bit smaller and they tend to not be so secure away from the mother, and when they are a bit older they are a bit more aware of their surroundings, and tend to also squirm like little eels when you hold them. Nevertheless, our studio welcomes babies, and their proud parents, and would want you to bring baby when they are ready, and when your household is a bit more settled. ll birthdays are special occasions to be celebrated and especially when you have smaller children, you get the see the magic of it all through their eyes. This family has had a shoot with us before, and now the twins turned 3. Their mom made the theme of the party all in relation to the sport golfing and it made for such great decorations.
I enjoyed the energy of these little kids so much, and realized that kids are only small for a short while, before they grow up and see the different sides of the world more, so when still young, we have reasons to still give them these amazing parties.
With any event, a lot of planning went into the idea or concept, and we always make sure to photograph those little things that form part of the atmosphere, and the things that you would want to remember. An event isn’t an event without great photographs to remember it by, so rather go the professional route where you know you’ll receive a good-quality product.

One day Johnny Bravo walked into our studio without us noticing anything out of the ordinary… Ok ok, his real name is Daniel but I promise you he has the moves and charisma of Johnny Bravo 
He is just so smooth and knows exactly what to do to put the attention squarely on him. When a family arrives for their fun photoshoot and are getting settled we know that it’s really important to engage with the kids and get them talking (in other words getting them confortable in this new environment) So I asked this little man how old he is? He looked at me, lifted up one eyebrow, smiled and said 5… Where after mom corrected him and then he was like:”ok… 3″ How cute is that?!
Throughout this while photoshoot he kept on being his charming self, doing his eyebrow moves and in general just charming the socks off everyone. He was even full of love for his baby sister who is but a few months old, smiling, holding and kissing her.
I just truly love these comical expressions and truthful sayings with which our toddlers come up with in the studiom it has really given us lots to smile about…

Having a fun family photoshoot every year is something I would strongly recommend to each and every family unit. Not only do you get to spend an hour of quality time together, but you get to share in tons of fun and have beautiful family photo mementoes which you can look at for years to come.
Trust me, the old style photography is just that “old style” We make use of fun and interactive poses which everyone can participate in, from doing handstands to creating a family stack or “hopie” as you would call it in Afrikaans. You will laugh so much you might mistake it for a comedy show.
The Caripis family just had SO many beautiful photos to choose from… Photos with dad and the kids, mom and the kids, just look at how beautifully “A” is holding his little bro. So much love from such a little guy, too cute

I truly enjoyed this couple, because of the fact that they are differently put together that most. Mommy-to-be is a very petite Caucasian lady with a small frame and only this beautiful bump in front of her. Proud daddy is dark and big-built, and completely in love with her wife. They are expecting twins soon, and we can’t wait to welcome them to the studio when they arrive. When we get interesting couples like these we enjoy the interesting images that come from that shoot, and we love that fact that we were able to use Mom’s small frame, and Dad’s big darker arms to frame her so tenderly.
A maternity shoot is a very special shoot, especially for couples like these who had been trying for awhile to get pregnant and now have their chance to see their double blessing being born. Being pregnant might not always be glamorous, but when at a time when it’s starting to feel very real now, and close to the big day, it’s a great idea to have photos taken of your tummy. It’s nature’s best shape by far, and we get to use lovely lighting to accentuate that feature to its best.

We had a Mom visit our studio once, who has three children, and with each of them she did their own special shoot when they reached a certain age. We had amazing fun with this little boy in the studio, because he had such an interactive personality, and did everyone we wanted him to; he smiled and jumped and giggled, and was a pleasure to photograph.
Mom is such a lovely lady, and she had fun as well, enjoying little one’s crazy tricks and obviously used to a boy’s wacky nature. We always try and shoot a family’s shoot, as modern and unique as possible, because you still want to look back at your photos in a few years’ time, and remember an amazing time, not that it was stiff and quite posed. It’s our strive to give our clients good, quality products, with it being shot correctly from moment one, with good colour and contrast, and edited in such a way as well.
Children have this ability to grow way faster than we think, and before we know it, they are taller, have a lot more to say, and they had completely changed from the babies they once were. Enjoying their growing-up, by having a shoot done of their milestones will let you remember their childhood with fondness.
