Being the family photographer meant that I photographed my sister’s matric farewell in style…  I hired a generator and took the the studio flashes out to a veld in Alberton and off we went.  Lights…, camera…, action!!!  Let me tell you there was definitely action   We photographed

the whole family (which in my case is photographing a group of 12 people) and then I had lists and lists of thought out poses which I wanted to try out on these two willing ”models”.  I saw the picture of the dress on the internet and immediately showed it to my sister.   One look and she

Pregnancy is one of the “big milestones” in a woman’s life.  Just like your matric farewell and getting married…

I’d never thought of doing pregnancy photos until I came across Louise’s website. The thought of having a complete stranger take photos of my naked belly was just too daunting for me. Against my better judgment I decided to do the photoshoot anyway. I was met by Riani at the gate, whom I think could sense my hesitation and made me feel soo comfortable with myself, my growing belly and the entire experience. On your matric farewell you feel like a prince or princess.  This is one of the school events where you can put it all out there.  I remember people didn’t recognise me at my matric farewell because I am usually casual in jeans & takkies.

I have photographed Niven once when he to his sister’s matric dance with her, and this is the second time around for his girlfriend’s (Shanel) matric farewell.  And may I say he looked dashing both times!

Can you believe that this goregous dress which Shanel is wearing is actaully her ‘backup’ dress.  The designer messed her dress up and so she had to go to the Oriental Plaza on the day of the matric farewell and find the perfect dress.  WOW, well done Shanel!  I didn’t even realize this is a backup dress as it is gorgeous

Niven had also told them to keep this pink waistcoat for him just in case…  Now that’s good planning (or maybe he jinxed them) I’m not quite sure.  Well all of the troubles aside you guys make the perfect couple, laughing and sensing each others every move…

Samantha Walker is one amazing girl.  She has such a big heart and knows all the ABC’s of just about everything!  She can make a n outfit for her next dancing competition, do her own make up (very stunning if I have to say so myself) and she is a superb dancer.  Basically she is a package of dynamite!

We photographed her and Darren’s (her dancing partner & boyfriend) matric farewell a while ago and her look was Marilyn Monroe.  She decided on sitting with curlers  for 3 hours and adding lots of hairspray to create the perfect curls because she has straight hair and she knew no one would recognise her.  Let me tell you she looked gorgeous!

While showing these absolutely stunning pics to a friend over the weekend they asked me how do we know which people will look good in photos?  And I can’t really define it.  With the help of a good photographer anyone can look absolutely stunning!  A lot of work goes into these kind of shoots be it make-up, hair or a little bit of a confidence boost.

We had so many laughs and chatted about anything and everything!  Sam literally brought her whole clothes cupboard and made our studio look like a clothing retailer…lol
