Today’s blog is all about the essence of photography…  Take a close look at this photo and the one below:  Which one do you like the most and why?  I know that the natural gives both that little something extra, and I am not 100% sure myself if I prefer the pensive look or the laughter shared between these two girls.  This goes to show you how versatile photography is.  Beauty truly is in the ey of the beholder!

Being a photographer I have realised that the essence of photography is natural lighting as seen above.  The girls were sitting next to a big window on the staircase and the light filtering through from the late afternoon sun certainly is what makes this photo so fabulous.  Whatever subject matter you are photographing try and incorporate the natural light, this will give bring out the contours of your subject’s face (in this case it highlights their eyes and their smiles.  If you think the essence of photography trluy lies in some other aspect of this wonderful artistic medium, please feel to contribute…

Let’s face it, throw a bunch of girls together in the room and your stomach will get a proper work out…  Mrs M and all the girls found themselves all together on a family weekend and decided that this is the perfect opportuniy to have

family photos done together (when you have a big family this rarely happens and you have to cherish every moment)  As you can see from these beautiful family photos we had a lot of fun and laughter in the studio playing around with

unique and funky family poses and this was causing all the laughter.  We took family poses as James Bond, just everyone together and loads more.  I thoroughly enjoyed this family photoshoot and can’t wait ti do one just as exciting with my own family…

When I look at these photos I can still hear the girls giggling…  It made me think of my sister and I when we were that age.  You are laughing so much that your stomach hurts and yet

you cannot explain to any person why :-)   The “H”s made me think of my family, a lot of people with their own beautiful language.  They have three conversations at a time and yet

everyone knows exactly what is going on.  This bunch was so lively I decided that the best way to photograph them would be Lifestyle photography here at the real life studio.  So we

made jokes, had everyone lying on top of each other and little “M” doing his signature model move (lying on his stomach next to whoever was being photographed… :-)   )  For the Real Life Studio experience come and join us for a morning of family fun and laughter ( and gorgeous photos)

Laughter…Fun…Challenge…Joy… Love… Support… all these words make up a little part of something that we call family.  You cannot choose them and you might sometimes think that they are a little bit wacky but that doesn’t make you love them any less :-)   The V family had a morning

of fun with our Real Life Studio photographers this morning.  All in all there were 9 of them with two being 3 yrs old.  You can just imagine :-)   We capture every moment of laughter and sibling rivalry in such a way that you can treasure your professional family photos for years to come.

Here at the Real Life Studio we use interactive poses like piggybacking, throwing coloured balls around the studio and many more…  Just by looking at their photos I can tell you exactly what this family is like…  Funny, cheerful and caring :-)   So if you want to fill some wall space give us

a call on 011 869 7759 or send us an email on info@louisedieselphotography.co.za

Now this is one photoshoot I am so proud of :-)   I absolutely adore these photos, I just can’t help but smile everytime I look through them.  W & A came to our studio all the way from Pretoria.  They looked at the work of many pregnancy photographers and decided that our photos were

the ones they wanted :-)   I really feel so privileged and honoured that someone appreciates my work that much.  Don’t get me wrong, it was just as much hard work as I enjoyed it.  (no pressure)  They asked me to do some really unique and creative maternity photos as they want

something special.  This is exactly what I gave them.  A & W your photos came out so well, with all the creative lighting and laughter we shared I think we managed to capture some truly magical pregnancy photos.  I can’t wait to photograph your little one…

Well, this gorgeous little angel is 9 months old and she smiles like she has won the lottery.  And let me tell you it’s contagious :-)   The studio was filled with laughter from the time they walked through the door till they had to go home.  Ever heard of the expression smiley happy faces?

Well these are the perfect words to describe this little girl.  She is a bundle of energy and has just started crawling this morning (which worked out perfectly as she was crawling in “slow motion”)  And the best part is, we are trying to get her to crawl for one photo and mom tries to call her,

nothing.  Dad tries to call her, nothing.  But as soon as mom pulls out the bag of flings she instantly gets onto all fours and crawls all the way over the claim her prize… :-)   It was just too precious!

A & P dit was regtig lekker om julle in die studio te he en ek kan nie wag om vir julle al julle mooi fotos te wys nie!

I found this really interesting list on another blog on the net and I thought it was a really cool way to start this year.

How it works (in case you forgot): I will answer the below very random questions – then you can answer the questions as a comment. Why? ’cause sharing is caring :-)
1. Today I feel… like inspiring someone

2. This week…I want to decide what is important enough to fight for, and what isn’t.
3. Last night…I lay on my sister’s bed with her, watched Ally McBeal and laughed until my tummy hurt
4. Lately the song stuck in my head is… ” Bohemian Rhapsody” -Queen
5. My New Years eve… was spent watching the sun set over the Drakensberg and sharing laughter with my family
6. This year I’m looking forward to… expanding my horizons (like studying graphic design etc), taking up another creative hobby which I’ve been meaning to do for a while (like starting to play the piano again), achieving some of my goals, to watch a Soccer World Cup game here in sunny South-Africa and speding a lot more time with important people in my life.  To expand our photographic studio to meet all our clients needs.
7. What big lesson/s did you learn in 2009? I learnt alot of things about how much I can achieve if I put my mind to it, that no matter how hard you think your life is there is always something to be grateful for.  When you are in your flow you create magic.  That giving really is better than receiving.  That you can never stop growing, that you should always strive to achieve your goals but even more important is to set new ones and start working on achieving them…
