Many parents say they wouldn’t just want to have their kids just be the only child, as siblings just add to the fun. So having quite a few brothers and sisters, make for those little giggles and jokes only they can share and understand. Sometimes siblings have their own jargon only they seem to get, and it’s that dynamic, that comes through in the studio. We enjoy the little moments between the kids, and find that many times, the energy they all have together make each of them feed off of the other one’s manner, and it can just escalate into the wonderful craziness we experience many a times at our studio.

Sisters and brothers have this connection, and all Mom and Dad can do, is sometimes just stand back and see it being played out in front of them. We accommodate all the phases kids go through, at some stage they just giggle for each and every thing, at other stages they adore posing, and all of these, just begs to be captured.

Our studio enjoys each and every family that comes to visit us, they are all different, and it’s such a privilege to work with so many different people, and become a part of their family too, however small, as they absolutely become part of ours.

You share a special bond because you have had so many shared experiences growing up and spending so much time together.  There are inside jokes and “looks” which are hilariously funny as you can remember the exact moment some person fell on their face etc…

With our family photoshoots we pose your family in such a way as to make everyone stand close together and laugh so much that their tummies hurt.  It’s all about having a fun time together and making fun of one another (as we all know, this is what siblings do…)

Family Photography Blog

We really try and have a huge amount of fun with our family shoots, no one wants to look back at a shoot done of them and thinks it was much too formal, and it didn’t really bring out who they were at all. As each family is different, we incorporate not only our studio’s style, but very much the suggestions the family has for their own shoot’s images. Some families have crazy runarounds and jokes the whole time, some want to have some images a bit more posed and directed.

We welcome all such suggestions, and use that as a basis of what the family wants. The goal for the shoot could be to have that one great shot above the bed or in the living room for everyone to see, and then they would want it a bit more posed. All the families that visit us, is what makes our studio so warm, and have a homely feel. Families are the cornerstone of what we do, even if it’s a tiny baby’s first shoot, or gran wanting great images of her and her grandkids. In whatever way, shape or form your family is constructed together, know for sure that nothing but a fun shoot waits at Louise Diesel Photography studio, The Real Life Studio.

Family Portraits

There probably isn’t a more amazing thing, than seeing two people getting married and the whole day they are just instinctively and very in synch, smile at each other, and you can feel the feeling they share, literally. When it is just so right between two people, it’s a pleasure to photograph their wedding. This wedding was both Demi-, and Stefan’s second wedding, and it was such a pleasant relief to have both of them very chilled and relaxed, and having their special day again, without any drama or anxiety.

Demi was such vision, in her silver dress, she truly looked exquisite and Stefan was the man in control no nerves at all, or perhaps he hid them really well. When we had our time with them during couple photos, and asked them to look at each other and talk to each other is if we weren’t there, they naturally joined in conversation with each other, as they had already known each for years, and their wedding just marked their big step, formalizing the bind they share so closely.  Both Demi and Stefan have children and they truly were a treat, as they enjoyed the day about as much as their parents did, making jokes with each other and posing like professionals.

We wish Demi and Stefan just the best, because they have such a great foundation, are very much at peace with each other, enjoy each other’s company, and love each other sincerely.

Wedding Pictures

We have had families of all shapes and sizes come for a family shoot, and we enjoy our time with them so much because they are all made up of different dynamics. Some families have quite a joking, humoristic way about them, cracking jokes over everything and taking each other out, especially the guys taking a stab at each other. Some are a bit more reserved and doesn’t talk much. For most people, the camera is a device ready to steal your soul, and a natural smile doesn’t just come with ease, it takes some work.

It’s a profession very much zoned into people and working with them. Photography has a lot of disciplines and unless you’re planning to become a wildlife photographer, or landscape photographer planning your calendar according to seasonal changes and topographical differences, getting to spend the next three months in a 4×4 vehicle scouting the terrain for wildlife or that perfect sunset over beautiful mountains, all alone or perhaps with a partner, then you’re going to work with people constantly. A person who’s demand is great photos and preferably with a great smile, so somehow we have to get that out of them. It’s a skill that only gets better with time. So we do everything but stand on our head to get people, and little kids to smile, and it’s very rewarding, because a smile always creates another smile, and it has the great tendency to form a bond, so we always feel a bit more familiar to our clients when their shoot is finished.

Family Photos

Thanks to Demi & Stefan we have discovered a gem of a venue in Ruimsig (close to Muldersdrift) called Tres Jolies.  It has the most beautiful gardens with big trees and an array of colourful flowers everywhere you look.  As photographers we always joke and ask why the creators of wedding venues never ask the advice of the photographers, as some venues are truly beautiful but if they had placed one or two items slightly differently it would have been awesome for wedding photos…  So this venue kind of made me think that the creators had done just that, as every spot and little private nook was just perfect for wedding photography.

Capturing beautiful wedding photographs is a sequence of events.  First off it always helps if your couple can relax and just enjoy the day ( the most important detail of the day is that you say “I DO” so knowing that if anything doesn’t go exactly as planned, it’s ok)  Secondly, having had a meeting with your photographers before hand really goes a long way in creating a friendship.  So that on the day you already know them and it is a comfort to have them there (Trust me, we might be the photographer but we have done bridesmaids hair, helped dress the bride and arranged flowers…)  And that beautiful just married feeling, the knowing that you have just committed to spending the rest of your life with the one person you truly love and cherish just adds that little bit of magic

Demi & Stefan was just such a couple…  From giggling along with their children in the church to very emotional songs pleayed for each other at the reception.  They laughed along at all the jokes and never refused to try any pose we suggested, no matter how wacky or unique.  We just want to thank you for making us a part of your special day as it was one special wedding we’ll never forget.

Wedding Photographers

Families are what makes our places not only feel like the place we work, but our home. We have so many families that walk through our doors every months, all of them from different backgrounds, different phases of life, and we love the fact that we can get to relate to so many different kinds of them. Some people are blessed to have aged already in life some, and have been able to share a life with someone for many years already, some are new parents with bouncy little kids, who’ll go through stages of their own, with losing teeth, becoming teenagers and having great events in their own lives happening, such as matric dances.

Families are our cornerstone, and we always feel proud when we get a friendly bunch of people, who laughs and jokes and are there to enjoy themselves. It always makes for great shots when they are relaxed and just having some fun, so that it feels like a playdate, rather than a date with unfamiliar photographers.

We welcome them heartedly, and all families have their own magic that they bring, their own jokes they share, and their own ways of connecting with each other.
