When I look at these photos I can still hear the girls giggling…  It made me think of my sister and I when we were that age.  You are laughing so much that your stomach hurts and yet

you cannot explain to any person why :-)   The “H”s made me think of my family, a lot of people with their own beautiful language.  They have three conversations at a time and yet

everyone knows exactly what is going on.  This bunch was so lively I decided that the best way to photograph them would be Lifestyle photography here at the real life studio.  So we

made jokes, had everyone lying on top of each other and little “M” doing his signature model move (lying on his stomach next to whoever was being photographed… :-)   )  For the Real Life Studio experience come and join us for a morning of family fun and laughter ( and gorgeous photos)

What is it about babies that makes us smile…?  Is it the naughty twinkle in a baby boy’s smile or the rosy cheeks of an angelic baby girl?!  Somehow they spread joy and love wherever they are (well most of the time anyway :-)   )  This little baby boy chose today to take a break in his routine by not taking a late morning snooze.  So he wasn’t too smiley when they walked through through our doors for their professional baby photos.  But in the studio we had no trouble getting him to crack a smile and laugh from his belly :-)   Between Mom, Granny and me we know all the secrets to getting babies to laugh when they are having their baby photos taken.  Photographing babies is all about making it about fun and games, playing peek-a-boo behind a camera and much, much more!!!  I find that the more you smile when taking photos of babies the more likely they are to smile right back at you.  So just have fun!

When photographing a family with small children time is of the essence.  Younger children tend to get bored quickly so use their energy to your advantage.  Play and sing with them so that you can create moments where you can capture natural smiles   Sometimes you just have to let them

be and they will come back to the backdrop and dance for you if you put the music loud enough.  Create a friendly environment where they feel free to play and be themselves.  A little tickling also goes a long way, after the first tickle you just tantalise them with the thought that it will happen again and they

will surely have an award winning smile on their faces.  And lastly, patience is key.  Try to work with the kids as much as you can instead of trying to force them to do something they are not interested in.  As soon as they feel pressured they will retract into their shell.  Have fun :-)

photographing kids babiesThis little angel was the flowergirl at a wedding I had the pleasure of photographing recently.  She is 25 months old and as busy
as any toddler of her age.  Almost like she’s got ants in her pants :-)   The only way I was able to take some photos of little
“K” was to take a photo and show her the pic on the screen on the back of the camera.  She was very pleased with this and then
continued to pose for a few more.  Isn’t she just a little darling…?

So when you are photographing kids remember to rather try to become part of their world than to impose with yours.  Sit on the
floor with them, sing to them and maybe kick a ball around.  This helps them to relax and get comfortable with you and the camera.
Keep taking photos even when they are not looking directly at the camera, sometimes these photos turn out even more beautiful.

Keep photographing, don’t stop to check and delete some photos because you might miss the moment.  Have fun!

The last time I saw little “C” was when he was but 4 weeks old and look at how much he has grown!  He looks a lot like dad and hot his musclar build as well.

professional baby pictures
He’s even gotten two teeth now :-)   Photographing young babies is called the hurry up and wait game, you get everything ready, your lighting, the temperature in the studio and then you have to do all you can for the next 30-35 mins.

baby photos
Being a baby model is a lot of hard work and they tire quickly so you have to capture all your beautiful baby pictures while they are still happy and smiling!

This little guys was just such an entertainer, he was cooing and kicking his little legs the whole photo session through!  Guys I look forward to another fun filled photoshoot when “C” is crawling/walking all over the studio :-)

What makes Christmas so special?  You, me and every other person in the world love Christams for very different reasons…

Kids obviously love Christmas because they get lots and lots of presents “from Santa Claus”  Christians around the world celebrate Christmas as that day represents the birth of Jesus Christ our saviour.  But for me Christmas is  special day to bring thanks for another year which could be spent with friends and family.  I love just catching up with my “whole” famil (believe me it is more like  tribe… lol)  Just having fun, spending quality time together palying board games, having a special lunch etc etc etc.

So this year why don’t you involve the whole family (kiddies included) to create personalised Christmas cards?  Come through to our studio for a fun filled Christmas photoshoot (red shirts, christmas hats and all…)  Be a part of the games and laughter and afterwards select your favourite photo and we will create personalised christmas cards  (with your family photo on the front) especially for your family to send out to all the relatives and friends.  No mess, no fuss.  Feel free to contact us for more info!
