It’s Valentine’s Day almost again! Now that Christmas is over, all sorts of fun holidays awaits us to enjoy the magic of making memories with Louise Diesel Photography, The Real Life Studio. Our boudoir-, nude- and couple shoots are going to make your loved one not only remember THIS Valentine’s Day, but even following one’s to come.

A boudoir shoot is basically all about pretty lingerie, and lovely expressions, so it’s a lot more moody and sensual than a fun and casual family shoot for example, which can get crazy and wild because of everyone’s energy and usually busy kids involved. With a nude- or boudoir shoot, it’s all about the lady-subject, and her femininity being the centre of attention, and bringing out the most beautiful parts within her.

We take good care in the studio, to make all women feel as comfortable as possible, and a bind almost gets formed between photographer and subject, as we realise the responsibility to show all ladies what magic they have, and what can be captured in a stunning way.

Gift’s for Valentines day

It’s always a mission to find the perfect gift for a man it seems. A woman is easy to charm (they say), and a bunch of flowers or lovely chocolate goes a long way. We find boudoir-photography is quite a trend, and when getting to do it in a professional studio like ours, knowing that your every need is catered for, whether it is to try a new pose that you’ve seen, or to try and diminish any “insecurities” you’re afraid you might have, or to take shots that will make you go “Wow”, and not even recognize your own photos, are what we’re all about. Making a shoot like that your special, one of a kind present to your beloved is a great idea, and one we find boosts the ego- and confidence of the brave woman doing it as well.

We were taught how to capture lines, repetition, shape & texture when we studied for the foundation of this profession, but when in practice, we find each shoot different and a work of art, literally, as we try and move the lights sideways or up and down, or using two lights, or the light with the little barn door as it creates a great shape on the person’s profile. It’s in working to make the woman feel as beautiful as she has ever felt, and then getting to visually capture and essence kept only for a husband, boyfriend or fiancé.

This Christmas you don’t have to wonder about what to give him, as we can help sort that out easily – with our skillfully crafted boudoir shoots, it is not less than very special, intimate & certainly beautiful, as any & every woman already are.

Sensual Boudoir Photos

Can you believe that in all these years of following my passion (photography) I have never once tried to photograph lightning…?  Unbelievable I know.  As mentioned we spent some quality family time in the Drakensberg this Christmas and we happened to be up on the tops of this mountain range.  So we were able to witness a lighting storm which was actually really far away.  Being at almost the same height as the clouds so

to speak we were able to witness (and photograph) the spectacular lighting bolts shooting from the sky without being in any real danger.  This is where a digital camera came in handy.  You can take as many photos as you like and review them quickly and easily so that you can then adjust your settings.  What I did was to close the aperture slightly (changing from anything from f8 up to f11)  and then I did long exposures like 10

seconds, 15 seconds, and 20 seconds.  It literally is anyones guess as to what settings to use when photographing lightning as every lightning bolt is different and so is your exposure.  I have to admit this was really fun to do and it took a lot of guess work to figure out the exposure but was worth it in the end!

Taking photos of your pets is something a lot of us have experimented with at some time or another.  They are our companions and a big part of our family.  When taking photos of your dogs you are trying to show them in the same way you feel about them which can be tricky.  For instance I have thoroughbred boxer dogs and they are known for their lively nature.  I can almost promise you that my dogs never sit still.

They are these bundles of endless energy and they think they are human   Here are a few tips on photographing your dogs.  Try something different.  Instead of just getting them to sit and shoot down, sit down, throw then a toy and photograph them running back towards you.

Take photos of your boxer dogs (or any other animal/pet) when they are having fun like running through water puddles or catching a frisbee.  Take some initiative.  Trust me I know how difficult it is to photograph them when they are in motion but it’s really beautiful too…  We went to the Drakensberg for Christmas and this year  decided to take the dogs along…  WOW, what an experience!

At first they didn’t quite understand how the ground isn’t flat anymore but up and down with koppies everywhere.  Or that water puddle swere deep enough to swim in…  They quiclky caught on though and we had to stop them from trying to catch cows on the farm ( which were about more than 4 times their size…)  Never the less it’s an experience I won’t forget any time soon!
