Louise and Ryan have had the wonderful privilege to travel to so many wonderful and amazing places. One place very rich in culture is Thailand, and Louise had the camera ready, as she always has for every trip, and took some amazing images to capture some of the wonder of the country.

When you travel, it’s a necessity to take a camera with, and because you might be in a climate with weather and lighting conditions very different to what you’re used to, it’s a great idea to get the best camera your budget can allow.

We use a Canon 5D Mark II at the studio for all our photography, and with the trips they do, our cameras have seen some pretty cool places, and has even been up Kilimanjaro.

It’s always good to try and catch the small things that make a place unique, such as its signage if it’s in a different language, or the sunset, because humidity, pollution and other atmospheric conditions have an effect on it, and it might not at all have the same look and feel as an African sunset.

Use your time there not only to enjoy the place with activities you do, but also to explore a bit, and take your camera along because you never know what you might find around the corner.

Any parent of a new baby would be able to tell you that they would just not be able to get enough photos of their brand new little person. Many fascinated mommies have admitted to just sitting and staring at new baby, and we understand the gesture completely, because they are so beautiful.

Our Maternity/Newborn combination package is such a viable package for new parents, because it gives you the chance for a shoot still with your pregnant tummy – a special time before this little important person presents themselves to the world, and a second shoot with your gorgeous newborn baby, as the new addition to your family has to have some images of their perfect selves, and we get to shoot proud mommies and daddies as well.

In our shoots we always try and accommodate all clients as much as we can, we try and give them a big variety of photos, with different styling and poses, and see to it that what they wanted out of their shoot, they got, and we know that little babies can be quite unpredictable, so we patiently try to sooth them, and give mom they necessary time for a feeding in the shoot – it makes baby just calmer. Boudoir Photography

A boudoir shoot, is basically a shoot with lingerie, which to most women, sounds like a terrifying thought. At our studio, in the past few months we have literally done dozens and it’s each time – a great joy to see these women have such an amazing time shooting with us in the studio. Not knowing what to expect, is normal, but us knowing we have the ability to transform you into someone you might not even recognize, is a big possibility, and someone whom you’re hubby will definitely adore, so much more.

These shoots have such interesting elements to them, as we place the light, at exact places where it will fall and accentuate the lovely curves a woman consists out of. Flat lighting us used in studio, for the family shoots we do, as it’s considerate to children, and people moving around a lot, and a bigger amount of people that needs to be lit, evenly. A boudoir shoot, is fully concentrated on the one woman important there – the one in front of the camera, in underwear. Many inhibited women are scared, it will be a shoot where they feel the wrong things would be portrayed, but it’s a shoot done very classy, and very tasteful.

We “wow” these women with their images when they see it at the end, and it’s always something that reminds us that even though we all have inhibitions, we’re all beautiful.

Womanhood is definitely something to be proud of, and celebrated, because no matter how hard any man tries, they won’t have what women have, and they realize that. One amazing way to celebrate who we are, and what se stand for, is by having great photo’s taken by professionals, and have that as a lasting image, insurance to yourself, knowing you are lovely and beautiful. Boudoir photography is all what makes women, and being beautiful and sensual is part of that.

As we are sensitive to everything that might make women uncomfortable, we take great care, in using good lighting and posing, to bring out the best in the woman we photograph. Photography is about light as the medium for exposure, and it must always try and bring a dimension back to the audience. With good lighting you can create depth and space, and show the human form in a different light, excuse the pun.

#1 - Make sure that your memory cards have been cleared before hand, and that you have more than enough batteries which are all fully charged. (PS – and that you have a clear understanding of how your equipment works)

Second great tip on taking stunning wedding photos – Always make sure that you focus  on the bride’s face no matter what happens… (and take your exposure readings from her face)

The third tip on taking good wedding photos – be ready to capture all those moments in between your formal posing and moving around.  You are allowed to enjoy the day and talk to people but be ready to capture anything.

Fourth tip on taking wedding photos – Make sure that you take a lot of photos on the actual day and review them later(you can still check if everyone’s eyes are open) but there just isn’t  time to study each and every photograph.

Fifth tip on being a good wedding photographer – Be helpful and considerate at all times (you have been behind the scenes at more wedding than the bride and you normally know what works)  This will help to relax the bride and give you the opportunity to capture better photos.

Sixth tip to taking better wedding photographs – Try shooting from different angles, climb onto a chair to capture the wedding guests congratulating the happy couple, and lie on your tummy when taking a shot of the rings with the couple in the background… It is things like these that will set your style apart from other photographers.

My Seventh tip on taking beautiful wedding photographs – is to keep a look out for opportunities to create “arty” photos like this silhouette shot.  Looks like something straight from a Disney fairytale.

The eighth tip to taking better wedding photos – Take charge (and not in a negative way), remember that you have been hired to perform a service and that you need to produce stunning images with the help of natural light (which fades quickly after the sun has set)

Finally the last tip to taking better wedding photos – Learn to connect with your clients in such a way that they are comfortable enough to trust you, this will give you the creative freedom, you need to create amazing wedding photos.

Wedding Photography tips

Learning business skills are always exciting, because it’s actually quite vital to know how a business is smoothly put together. Our studio has been doing so well, that we keep on feeling blessed, and being grateful for how we are growing. Yet-  we are still true artists at heart, and working with clients, bringing out the best in them , is still our aim, giving them beautiful products of which we are proud of ourselves, knowing we poured our passion into your images.

One such situation is this lady, who came for a boudoir shoot by us – a shoot we love to do, as there is quite a lot of technical procedures involved, in lighting, set-up and posing. She was a little shy, and as most women, had bits she felt self-conscious about, and wanted the photographer to be sensitive about that. Being women, we understand, and we always make sure to make the women coming for these shoots, at ease about the whole thing.

Her shoot, was a huge success, with some of the most beautiful boudoir shoots we have had so far, and she was stunned when she saw the end-result, personally phoning me to thank me. These are the moments, we do it for.
