Babies are wonderful creatures – adults, can’t express themselves in the wonderful way as babies do. Babies have a way to pull their little faces, or smile in such cute ways, and we secretly want to smile too, when we get to capture those on camera. It’s hard to believe they become us – adult, walking, talking, independent human beings, because when they’re that little, and still need their mommies and daddies for everything, you can’t believe we were all there at one point in time.

We work hard to get those little smiles out of babies, and with success, we mostly get brilliant ones. Girls and boys are different, a 3-month old, and a 6-month old are different, shy children and expressionistic, outgoing children are different, and we have had all shapes and sizes in our studio, getting up to all kinds of weird and wonderful things.

Being proud of the fact that we can call ourselves professional, we use professional equipment, and we have a proper background in the studio, as we know how babies could be smiling one minute still, and crying the next, so we have to work fast, while smiles are still somewhat there. Babies give it all, unpretentiously, and with who they are, and we want to get the best pictures of them, while we still have that time when they smile.

We’ll always love babies, as there are no cuter- and more perfect creatures on this earth, than them. It’s also quite challenging – babies are inquisitive, and they are curious about everything. They also KNOW that the world revolves around them, and when they want something, they want it NOW. They really grow so fast, and at point come to a stage where they found their feet, and want to run around as much they can, sitting still, isn’t an option.

We understand this dynamic, and have photographed many babies, ranging from a day or two old – to as much as where they can’t be considered babies anymore, and we understand they go through changes and phases.

One cardinal rule for good laughing photos is a baby, with a full tummy, and one who has had a good nap not to earlier before. It’s sometimes hard enough as it is, but even more so when trying to photograph a baby who’s tired, or hungry. We find the lights, and handling them, and constantly probing them to smile, -tires them out so much as it is, so starting off with a baby who is smiling because they have had their nap and a meal, or a snack – is a good start.

matric dance photography

unique matric dance dress

There are a few pivotal moments in our lives that we would like capturing as best as possible. One of them is definitely a matric dance, as it is one of those events where a lot of planning goes into, it is the matric pupil’s last exit out of school, and it surely has to be done in style. Being quite young photographers still, we understand this completely, and having the love for taking photos, makes that we will handle your event photography, as professionally as possible. We obviously want to give you something you and your partner, and ultimately the parents of both parties, who also were part of the process in a big way, can be proud off.

It’s a big evening of dress-up, and knowing who’ll take your pictures to make sure the details of your dress, the style of your suit, and the excitement between the couple gets captured magically, would be a big weight off of your shoulders. Us here at Louise Diesel Photography, is a studio, who have done numerous event-shoots, and we always use professional equipment as is expected of a successful studio.

Our cameras are like our babies, and we use them to bring forth what we see in front of the camera, so that what you can get out of it, is just a great experience, wonderful pictures, and an evening of fun, knowing your best pictures of that night, is already in the bag.

female nudes

It’s been quite a year, and with many of our staff recently being victims of crime, we realize all too little that we have so much to be grateful for, and one thing for surely to be celebrated is womanhood and how we as women do so many things to keep society nurtured, and it’s pure miracle that we get to carry babies with our bodies and take care of everyone else.

A nude shoot might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but a discipline of photography I thoroughly enjoy, because of the visual aspect of it, and the pleasant psychological effect it has on anyone who gets to look at it. It’s graphic in a way, and it’s almost a journey, with some photographs not clearly identifiable and the audience in wonder as to what they are looking at.

A woman’s body is a wonderful thing, and just playing with the lighting set-up, getting it just right to portray the woman being photographed in the best possible way, is a great way to show all women: you look good no matter what, and it’s inspirational to the photographer too, because we always strive for beauty.

Low-key, moody and an air of mystery is probably what is going to come across, and rightly so, as it is a wondrous wonder.

We will always make you feel as comfortable as possible here at our studios in Randhart, Alberton, and know that how-ever nervous you might feel during your shoot, you are only going to be stunned in the end.

In today’s age and time, almost everything has been thought of or tried and done before and almost rarely is a “new” idea, that new or that unique, as it has sprung from an idea seen or read of or thought of by someone else before. The technology of cameras and the digital age has come a long way, and these days anyone could be an instant photographer with cameras being fairly inexpensive and could be bought anywhere. So being a market leader in a field comes down to a skill being better than a competitor’s and maybe also how your clients are serviced, and the team at Louise Diesel Photography, know that we have that responsibility to deliver a service to a multitude of different clients and it’s still a strive to get it right each and every time.

For us, it’s about bracing ourselves each and every time – taking a deep breath and moving into a zone before stepping into that studio, as the next thing to do – is very simply – to capture brilliance. And it makes us live for this; it’s a rush for that which only the combination of a camera and a finger clicking that in front of you, brings. It’s always a good reason, and good goal to click towards, a way of captivating people long after we’ve captured and they have left our studios. If this profession gets to a point where it’s a chore or a bore – it’s a dishonour to people that expect something they feel they are not able to get themselves, which makes us miracle workers virtually every day. And we step up to that challenge, through everything, only with a love for this job.

Photography has opened the door for life etched onto us, our lives, our computers, our sharing with families and friends close-by & abroad, it’s there not to be forgotten and to realize how we’ve all grown, how situations evolve, how babies become grown and life-contributing people, and in elderly stages of some people’s lives, some get the unfortunate condition of not remembering important aspects of their lives or even their loved ones around them, but it’s been shown that some memories certainly never get lost or fade, and us here feel it our job to give of what we are, to have those great slices of our lives not forgotten – what an honour for us.

nude photography

Classic nude photography, is basically the technologically advanced version of what has inspired artists over years of painting, drawing & sculpting, & is mostly, in celebration of art’s greatest inspiration – the female form. Even though male nude photography is also a practiced discipline of photography – there is just something about the female form that captivates audiences over any spectrum.

Nude photography should be done in such a way, that it brings a dynamic of mystery, but not ask the wrong questions, and therefore we here at Louise Diesel Photography, handle these shoots with special discretion and a warm, uplifting attitude as it takes quite a lot of courage for any person, to take their clothes off for the purposes of photography – images that lasts forever.

We have so many times said, that photography is very versatile; it doesn’t limit itself to only one genre, and shooting a family, or babies, or even pregnant mommies-to-be, is all different  from the very artistic discipline of photography that is nudes. It’s all about mood, ambience and sensuality – almost in a subtle form, and therefore we use the black background, and one-sided to low-key lighting. As women are, we’re all uncertain about some areas of our bodies but with these shoots, the utmost care is taken, to ensure the subject that they only look courageously gorgeous and that we’ll make sure only their best features are shown and brought forward. We want them to ultimately remember the shoot as a pleasant experience, something to think about forever, as it is a gift to either a special someone in your life, or even to yourself – that is priceless, ageless and will never lose the beauty that is beneath the surface.

Classic nude & boudoir photography

Working in a photography environment, is so versatile and diverse, that it’s difficult to explain what exactly it is we do, or what can be done. Numerous tribal and primitive groups believe one’s soul is stolen through a photograph, and Buddhist Monks are not allowed to be photographed – but with what we do every day, we would have to whole-heartedly, disagree. We see the most extraordinarily beautiful babies, ranging from fresh newborns that are miracles by themselves, to families who come for follow-up shoots with kids that grew so much in height AND character, to women being transformed into sirens of wonderful beauty when we do boudoir shoots, to going into the field and photographing people in all situations, from little children crying and starving of hunger, to the extreme high-glamour shoots, with catered hair and attire that blow our minds away.

There is no better reward to any photographer, when especially photographing people, to have caught that one shot that was spot on, with smile, posture, expression, pose or whatever it may be, just right, or catching the essence of your landscape, or the shape of your building, or the repetition in shapes that appeals to most of us. It’s the best profession in the world we believe, a wonderful mix of mechanical science and art – having to use a machine to capture an image, but creating some sort of magic that is as close to poetry in motion as one can get.

At Louise Diesel Photography, it is a welcoming studio with a warm atmosphere, as we enjoy our shooting so much and would have many different shoots in one day, of all different kinds of people.  People rarely feel comfortable in front of the camera, and we have that responsibility to create a comforting, trusting bond to ensure people that what we’re going to do with them in the next hour with their shoot, won’t be torturous, it will be a pleasant experience, which leaves our clients satisfied and happy, and when they received their photos, it was time and time again, the right decision made to have come for their shoot, and we realize again, that the right decision wasn’t made to go into this profession, we’re just very glad the profession chose us.
