When first making contact with us for their photoshoot I remember Charl’s email going something like this:’ I would like to book a shoot for me, my wife and son (no guns involved)
’ I remember thinking this was going to be a great shoot and boy was I right…
They came prepared with everything from different outfits, to toys, to juice and the BIG ONE… MARIE BISCUITS. Liam is 14 months old and doesn’t sit still for even a split second (there is a whole world out there to explore you know…) He is so crazy about dogs that his parents almost considered bringing their two Jack Russels with to the shoot. Liam also speaks dog language, everytime he saw one of the dogs outside the sliding door he started going woof-woof woof-woof….
He reminded me of my brother’s little one who is about the same age and doesn’t sit still either. It’s funny how children can stir so many emotions in you. They just seem to make me forget about everything else in the world and just focus on the little things. There is no truer saying than:’ small things amuse small minds’
When photographing kids in studio we try to get into their heads. The shoot should be fun and interesting for them. Sometimes they have so much fun playing with us in our studio that they’re hesitant to leave. We have even started bringing a small trampoline into the studio for them to enjoy themselves on.
You must remember, no matter how child-friendly we make our studio, it is still a foreign enviroment to them. A bit of effort from your side really goes a long way. Throw them into the air, swing them around, tickle them and sing to them and they will soon forget about about the photographer allowing us to get great natural shots to fill your walls with

The best memorable moment in our lives was when Baby Bibi Fatima was born. The second best moments were when we came in to the Louise Diesel studio to capture ourspecial family memories…
