I had the pleasure of photographing Belinda’s second pregnancy in our Johannesburg-based studio yesterday morning, and did we enjoy it. Seeing that dad couldn’t make the shoot Belinda and I spent the morning chatting about pregnancy, babies and kids…
Belinda is scheduled for a caesarean on Monday afternoon (which is only four days away BTW). Chaise will be her second born son, so she will now have two boys (let me tell you when Chaise gets older you are going to have your hands full) Luckily children are a part of our journey which helps us grow and enriches our life and spirit. Keane who is about 2.5 years old will also attend the newborn shoot to have a few pics taken (Can’t wait to see what he thinks about his little brother)
As hard as we try to prepare kids for a new sibling I don’t think toddlers can really grasp the concept. For instance Belinda was telling me about how Keane is now noticing her evergrowing tummy everyday. So he comes up to her, puts his hand on her tummy
and says:”Mommy’s tummy is BBIIGG, cos there’s a baby in there”, and she smiles at him and thinks to herself there we go, he understands… Then Keane lifts his shirt and points to his tummy and goes: ” My tummy is BBIIGG cos there’s a baby in there”… You just gotta laugh

Seeing that Belinda loves black and white photos I have made all the photos on my blog today black and white witsome special effects added into one or two of them. I have to say they look stunning. These photos really describe the concept of it is all about the tummy.
When is the right time to have your pregnncy photos taken? I would say roundabout 34-38 weeks. This ensures that your tummy is showing nicely and that I have an even better chance to create beautiful maternity memories
Being a woman photographer I have found that I have the chance to really connect with all my clients, because I understand how they feel and what they are envisioning for their photos.

The best memorable moment in our lives was when Baby Bibi Fatima was born. The second best moments were when we came in to the Louise Diesel studio to capture ourspecial family memories…
