All women have this image of photos that they want taken of their precious little baby boy/girl even before they have been born.  They search the internet to find photos taken by professional photographers like Anne Geddes and Andrea Carlyle and make up their minds of what newborn photos they would like and where in the house they will be displayed.
I know this sounds crazy to any man, but trust me, in a woman’s mind this all makes sense

I always say the art of photographing newborn babies in our studio in Johannesburg studio lies in being a woman.  We experience things more intense than men, my mother once
told me that she is so close to me and my sister cos at first we grew under her heart (in her tummy) and then we grew up right on front of her eyes into the beautiful passionate women we are today… (made me go all mushy inside and brought a tear to my eye)

Newborn’s aren’t as fragile as we might imagine.  Doctors study for like seven years (so surely they know what they’re doing) and have you seen the way they handle newborns? In our studio we do make our whole shoot about your precious little angel    We start off by turning on the underfloor heating and by warming our studio at least 2 hours before you arrive at our photographic studio in johannesburg.  We usually set aside at least an hour and a half of our time to complete you newborn photoshoot.  Let’s face it,
newborn babies constantly eat and sleep.  In my career as a professional photographer I have never done one newborn photoshoot without stopping halfway to feed baby and a nappy change somewhere in between (accident’s happen so don’t worry about it) 

We use a velvet cloth to protect you little one’s sensitive skin whenever we need to lie them down and we also dim the studio lights a little bit during the shoot.  I feel that newborn photography is quite easy, as long as you have a good understanding of your studio lights your all set.  Babies are naturally beautiful and so all I do as your newborn photographer is to capture the essence of this tiny human being.

Samantha is one of Louise’s old friends and they had a blast catching up a little.  I truly loved that Sam had actually done some research and had a basic idea of what I was looking for in posing little Baby Chaise.  He on the other hand was such a good little model, the only time he made a sound is when he was hungry and he pretty much slept
through the rest of the photoshoot only peeking every now and again to make sure mom and dad is still close by.
