This young woman just made my day by shooting with her, because she made me so excited for her future. She is interested in doing some modeling, either part time or full-time; she wants to see where it all goes. She had an amazingly sweet personality, a beautiful smile, and telling me about her studies and what she does in her spare time. When it came down to it she performed like a superstar, with great expressions, and posing as if she was made for it.

She is of Irish decent, and has a milky skin with these ice blue eyes, and one big mass of hair, which was great to work with. We had a great time shooting and she admitted that this was her first shoot ever; she had never done any shooting or modeling when she was younger. She has very striking features, and amazing lines to her, even though she is tiny in frame – a real dream come true for a photographer.

If you want to have great photos done of yourself  and you  aren’t quite sure how to go about it, the first places to start is with a  photoshoot, that shows your ways of holding yourself in front of the camera,  and it also shows you versatile. Our studio has done many amazing modeling- and portfolio shoots with international models, up-and-coming models, artists wanting to do a shoot for the cover of their album, or ordinary people just wanting to look great and want professional photos.

Those moments when people laugh right out of their stomachs are the moments when I feel our work is already done. This mom- and daughter team had been for a shoot with us before.They are old friends of our studio and mom just wanted another shoot with her daughter as they are just crazy about each other and love spending  a lot of quality time together. This shoot was for the daughter mostly, where we showed off a bit of their cultural heritage by her wearing amazingly coloured Sari’s and then we did some with just her and her mother. All they did was giggle. We were all in stitches.

I found it very special to be able to experience their fun moments with them. They were able to bring their special bond to the studio and enjoy their time with me. I don’t even know everything they said to each other but they were laughing constantly and it made for such great images. The one image is an all time favourite of mine.

Next time when you are wondering what to do with mom, or with gran, or with your daughter, come and enjoy that time in the studio, you would be sure to make some amazing memories.

That short phase between not being a little girl anymore and playing with dolls and not fully adult yet and still have to listen to Mom – is a great place to be. The tweenies shoots are some of my favourites.

I’m almost 30, but when I get to spend some time with these girls, I feel just as young as them. They have endless amounts of energy and they all seem to speak at once which could get you quite dizzy. Really amazing images come from these shoots and it’s an interesting, unique and cool way to celebrate a young lady’s birthday. We always do group shots, getting the whole group together, pulling faces, and joking around  and then we get some individuals of the girls as well, to make sure the birthday girl gets to remember each of her special friends. It’s a time of their lives that seem to pass too quickly, but it still is loads of fun and we would recommend anyone thinking of doing a group shoot with teenage girls or boys, to have it with us in the studio, it’s an experience you will never forget.

Our studio is very blessed with so many of our clients wanting to share their maternity experience with us. A maternity shoot is a very special shoot because it captures the time when baby inside is still very much a part of Mommy. A baby bump is a beautiful way to celebrate the woman form.

This family already has a beautiful little 3-year old girl, with the most amazing red hair, and she made the shoot extra special with her little quirks. Her father was very funny and made her laugh the whole time. Even though most families own a good camera, we still understand the need for professional maternity photos.As it isn’t only about taking photos, it’s about capturing certain moments in time, in a very professional, extra-ordinary way. We’re honored to share in the maternity-time, and births of all of these Mommies- and babies to be and hope to serve our clients with our great photography for a long time to come.

A couple photo shoot is a fun shoot where all three of us – the couple and me as photographer are in stitches at the end of the shoot because we can’t stop laughing. Usually when younger people book for this photo shoot  they are still very keen on trying fun things and they get creative with their props or the clothes they bring – something we encourage and enjoy.

We want to give you a variety of photos, and not have it get monotonous and when they work with us and bring interesting things to work with, the shoot just seems to flow and we get into a good groove – we don’t know where an hour and a half disappears to.

These shoots are the ones that re-install my hope, that give me a big smile on my face and make me remember that lovely electricity between the couple and for a while thereafter  and each time I edit a new photo of theirs.

My very best friend is a special soul mate of mine. We were very young when we met and have gone through the emotional turmoil of life that your 20’s seem to bring.  Now – we’re older, she’s married to a stunning guy and we fully enjoy spending every moment we can together.

We spent the morning getting our hair sprayed for the Cansa Shavathon that was running that weekend, and then we hit the city, where we had a walk through an area called Woodstock – an amazing part of Cape Town, with a great atmosphere, and very interesting little shops.

The two of them have such a great relationship and its fun to spend time with them. They always pose for photos and because they are so crazy about each other  their energy shines through. Location couple shoots make for amazing shots.

Johannesburg provides just as many amazing places to shoot and next time you are thinking of doing a couple shoot, consider us doing it outside, it’s very special, it’s unique, and it will have you remember it forever.

I could share these lovely couples wedding photos for  a long time, as this wedding certainly was one the most pleasant and amazing I have ever had the privilege to shoot. Both of them are profoundly crazy about each other and in his speech the groom proclaimed how much he loves her and how he will forever try and make her happy.

She was a very beautiful bride and couldn’t stop smiling. They are both quite shy but seemed to be able to crawl out of their shells a bit on the day. We kept praying for the rain to stay away. It obeyed and only after the wedding – after having packed up and on my way home it poured down something fiercely. They made for  great couple shots and their bridal party was full of fun.

The pink colour she chose for her colour scheme made for very striking photos, as the pink came through so strongly and the bridesmaids looked lovely.

I wish Shaun & Tascha only the best; they deserve their share of happiness.
