Well, it was a special day indeed! After making our marks at the voting stations really early this morning, the boys were off to the tennis clinic with dad while Demi & I stayed home to avoid the cold. Demi was delighted when her cousins Brits and Morgie arrived and they had a lovely morning playing together….  There is such a special bond between them and its precious to see…..

The boys had a blast at tennis clinic: Mikey won “balls in the sky” AND “tennis cricket!!!” They really enjoy the holiday tennis clinics as they play such fun games….. and of course, they look forward to the lucky draw all week! Jamie was so excited yesterday as he was made the world cup soccer captain (yes soccer captain at the tennis clinic? I didn’t even ask…..) And they were thrilled to have Ryan there to watch them today so they were on top form this morning showing off for their dad!!!

After lunch, we took the children to ride their bicycles near Ben’s house and the boys finally learnt to ride their bicycles without training wheels!!!! They were so proud of themselves!!! And of course, so was I!!! Brits and Morgie are little professionals at riding their bikes and after watching the girls ride so so easily and so well, Jamie decided it was time to try to do the same without his training wheels…. Ryan took them off, guided him on his way and let go….. and Jamie was off like a little star!!! It was beautiful to watch and the look on his face was priceless!!! He was soooo proud of himself!

Needless to say, Mikey was next. Ryan helped him a little and he too was off like a shot – but this time, he had his big brother Jamie running next to him clapping for him and cheering him on – it was so special to see and brought tears to my eyes… Jamie really is a wonderful child and an amazing big brother and Mikey just adores him…..

Mikey, of course, was so calm & cool (and inwardly delighted but he wouldn’t let that show too much!) They had a few falls after that and were a little disheartened so we decided to have a break and we went to Spur to celebrate Britney’s birthday.

When we got home, the boys were back on their bicycles and Ryan took them onto the golf course to really give it a go and apparently they nailed it! They were so excited when they got back and so was I (it is such a nice feeling for a mom when her children learn something new and you see their self-worth shoot up – just wonderful!) They are in bed fast asleep now – they crashed soon after their return and not surprising after such a busy, fun-filled day!!! I just love days like these!!!
