If you can’t talk to the photographer and make sure they understand exactly what photos (and behavior) you expect for the big day, don’t hire them no matter how good their portfolio looks online. Same with the big companies; don’t trust them to send someone you haven’t even met for your big day. Try calling some local photographers on http://www.gatheringguide.com/event_dir/ca_california/san_diego/evl_photographers.html (that’s the link for San Diego), that’s what we did. It will tell you who’s in your area. Then you can meet with them in person and get a much better idea of who you’re hiring.</description>
