How to get the greatest wedding photos?
Great wedding photos don’t just happen they are precisely planned, and expertly executed by a top-notch photographer with a patient wedding couple. The photographer will have consulted with the bride and groom ahead of time and set forth an action plan of what photographs the wedding party has to have. And then the photographer should discuss what time of day and where the best locations are to take the photos. This is critical, because if you’re planning on taking any of photos outside, the photographer needs to make sure he or she can take absolute advantage of the natural light when it is the most dynamic (early in the morning, late in the afternoon… please avoid 10am to 3:30pm at all costs, the photos will never turn out that good).
The wedding photographer will be obsessed with your wedding day schedule, and if you didn’t hire a wedding planner, then it’s doubly important to discuss the day’s itinerary with the photographer well in advance, so he or she can plan the photographic part of day; perhaps she’ll want to scout the location ahead of time, and put together a strategy that will give her enough time to make everyone look good, have as much fun as possible and be as unobtrusive as possible. The photographer is a time-black hole, she needs time to get photos of the family, portraits of the wedding couple, to capture the wedding hall and the cake before the guests start to arrive, and to recreate those spontaneous moments that transpire under the duress of the day’s chaos. So if you can give the photographer the necessary brief burst of time that she needs (and she’s come with an action plan) to work her magic, you’ll increase the odds of getting fantastic wedding photo that everyone will not just be proud of, but in awe of.
