I could look at this maternity portrait all day long.  The tonal ranges in this image is just superb, with highlight, midtone and shadow detail.  Fine art maternity images is all about using your imagination and creative thought to create images that provoke thought.  When shooting a fine art image you have basically been given free reign and can try out all your new ideas… (very exciting for any photographer)

Long pieces of sheer material often work really well for pregnancy photos, because they can be wrapped around any tummy and when pulled tighter they accentuate the shape of the pregnant women’s body just beautifully.

It is always a good idea to go in search of samples, to show your photographer, before the actual day of the maternity photoshoot.  This will give you a better idea of items to wear to the shoot as well as what can be done in terms of photography.  These photos will serve as the foundation of the shoot with the photographer now bringing their own personality and feel to the images (remember that photographers are artists and you have to give them a little bit of space to work, this will make your images even more stunning than you could have imagined)
