smiles in photography

I hear Riani say:”Where’s my Colgate smile?” about a hundred times in one of our shoots, as a smile, is so important, when showing that special “something” we all have inside of us, and although with shoots like boudoir, or modeling, or fashion, there are shots when we need a more serious, smouldering, or neutral look, but it’s when a subject smiles, that their faces really light up, and we love when it happens each and every time.

A fake smile is exactly that, fake, and it tends to show through in the photos, where when it’s sincerely meant, or at least tried, it gives us a satisfactory result. In our shoot with “B”, a boudoir/modeling shoot, we enjoyed what she gave us so much, as “B” had a wonderful way of being beautifully mysterious, as well as having such a popping smile. “M” surprised as even more, with bringing a playfulness, as well as having such a striking- little more serious side-profile.

The audience can immediately see in the subject’s eyes, when they are truly smiling or not, therefore it is up to us, to bring that out of the people we photograph, to make them comfortable, assure them, and help them feel at ease  here at Louise Diesel Photography. But mostly, the subjects themselves bring their own unique “muchness” as we call it, and when we see it happen in front of our eyes – we realize so often – we just love our job.

Customer Testimonial

Dear Riani

I’d like to say a very big thank you for the photo shoot you did on Saturday for Sages Modeling Portfolio.

Sage has lots of fun and felt very relaxed and like a professional model working with you, it was an overall great experience.
Thank you so much.
