Wedding photography is something which I absolutely love shooting. Every one of these days are special in their own respective ways…
I had the absolute pleasure of photographing & sharing Lloyd and Elaine’s special day at Morrells in Northcliff. What a day…?! Let’s start you off with and idea of the venue, landscaped gardens (nothing kitch or similar to any other venue in JHB) friendly staff and more photo opportunities and spaces any photographer could ever dream of.
If I have to think of one word to describe the bride Elaine on this special it would be radiant (and bubbly, and ecstatically happy and humble – ok, I know this is more than one word, but there isn’t just one word in the English language to compare)
Selecting the perfect wedding photographer can be tricky and this is why we always urge our couples to come through to meet the photographer (like Lloyd and Elaine did) so that by the time you get married this person could have been part of your family
Choosing photos to share was difficult as there are just so many that stand out, but I think most importantly, the one thing you can definitely be sure of is that these two lovebirds will be certainly be happily married for years to come…

At the beginning of this year, if you told me that I would sit next to our president’s daughter Duduzile Zuma and see her crying because the wedding photos we took for her captured the day so perfectly, I do not think I would have believed you…
We feel SO privileged and grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside pepole like Gayton Mckenzie and Kenny Kunene, along with the ZAR clubs and obviously taking photos for the Zuma’s. This was such an amazing experience which I am sure Yolandi and I will remember for years to come
Seeing the photos in an animated slideshow today with Dudu just filled us with so much pride and joy, it was literally like re-living the whole day again. From getting ready, to the happy expression on her face when she met up with Lonwabo, to their private couple photoshoot and their first dance. So many memorable moments, like when she kissed Lonwabo during their couple photosession and he had this red lipstick kiss on his cheek, right up until her dad doing a wacky dance alongside one of the cousins.
As I said we are just truly grateful for the wonderful opportunity we got to share with the Zuma’s and are looking forward to many more happy “photo-moments” shared together!

Few things come close to the splendor, and magical feel of a wedding day. Many of these couples have been together for years or have know each other for quite some time, and on the wedding day, still some nerves seem to float around. The thought of having to take such a big step and that THIS is now the moment can overwhelm one. But then we have seen so many couples, just melting into the whole relaxed union of their promise, when they see each other. A bride looks extremely beaming and happy, and a groom looks so proud he could almost burst. At that moment nothing else matters for them, but each other, let alone who is standing in the wings capturing all of it happening. We had done a few weddings to know, that most couples love the relaxed, non-posed look, where the feeling is casual and not stiff and forced. We always try and get that mood going while we are shooting, so that you can only remember your big day as one of the best. For photographers, being in tune to what the couple is doing and reacting towards each other, and being aware of the surroundings and little nooks and spaces to use where we can photograph beautiful images, is all part of what makes us professional.
Many months of planning went into a wedding, and on that day, the euphoric feeling makes for a zoned-in image of only your husband- or bride to be. So we always go around, and photograph all sorts of small details, beautiful smiles, little giggles, and precious moments. Trust your wedding into the hands of the photographers at Louise Diesel Photography, The Real Life Studio.

I still remember my Matric Dance very clearly, and the huge amount of planning that went into the whole event. Even so much more so, effort goes into the planning of a wedding, and we photographers at Louise Diesel Photography studio, The Real Life Studio, understand that very well. We’re geared and wired to catch onto detail, see the small things, and capture the day’s events in a beautiful, unique way.
When any shoot happens, nothing in the world matters to us more, than getting that moment, and getting it perfect. We walk around, scout the location, and use all the little spaces, for unique images that will take your breath away still for years to come, and will take you right back to that day, and the small, big, wonderful, special things that happened. It truly goes by so quickly, it just feels like a lot of flashing, a lot of smiling, a lot of people, and then the evening comes to a close. So having stunning images to remind you of the amazing vow you took will be something that you can treasure.
We have shot a few weddings, and see so many couples, being hopelessly in love, enjoying the day, and looking fabulous and all dressed up, it’s the one day where you sparkle so brightly, and we shoot away to get as much of that magical energy as we can. Have you wedding shot by Louise Diesel Photography studio, The Real Life Studio; we’ll treat your wedding as important as if it was our own special day.

There probably isn’t a more amazing thing, than seeing two people getting married and the whole day they are just instinctively and very in synch, smile at each other, and you can feel the feeling they share, literally. When it is just so right between two people, it’s a pleasure to photograph their wedding. This wedding was both Demi-, and Stefan’s second wedding, and it was such a pleasant relief to have both of them very chilled and relaxed, and having their special day again, without any drama or anxiety.
Demi was such vision, in her silver dress, she truly looked exquisite and Stefan was the man in control no nerves at all, or perhaps he hid them really well. When we had our time with them during couple photos, and asked them to look at each other and talk to each other is if we weren’t there, they naturally joined in conversation with each other, as they had already known each for years, and their wedding just marked their big step, formalizing the bind they share so closely. Both Demi and Stefan have children and they truly were a treat, as they enjoyed the day about as much as their parents did, making jokes with each other and posing like professionals.
We wish Demi and Stefan just the best, because they have such a great foundation, are very much at peace with each other, enjoy each other’s company, and love each other sincerely.

A wedding is filled with so much emotion, not only for the day symbolizing such a big step to be taken by the couple, but in the remembrance of the months before in planning this day, supposed to be nothing else but perfect. But as it should be, the couple only have eyes for each other, and sometimes the details of the wedding, the small things put together to give the event some flair, goes unnoticed. We as photographers, are there for exactly that reason – we are always in the wings, capturing all small little details that makes up part of what is making your wedding come alive, and we know what care went into the planning of these.
The wedding details are such an important part of any wedding, as it’s decorative, and creates a full-rounded day, it completes the whole pictures and if there is a theme, it’s carried through in these small little paraphernalia. Each wedding is unique, and most of the time has so much of the couple’s character embedded into it, from the bride’s favourite flower, to the groom’s favourite colour.
You need not fear that all of this magic will go unnoticed to us, we walk around the whole day, constantly aware of any moment, any detail, and any little stolen kiss that might occur.

A wedding isn’t just a special occasion, it’s a once-in-a lifetime happening, and it will never be the same as it was that particular day. There are so many moving parts part of a wedding day, months, sometimes years of planning go into every detail. For the bride especially, it’s all about getting everything “perfect”, but for us photographers, it’s all about moments being created and getting images within the energy that seems to float in the air on that day. Not only will the bride be looking absolutely breathtaking and the groom so proud he’s almost about to burst, but a lot of effort and planning went into all the small details of the wedding, such as the colour scheme, the venue’s atmosphere, how the tables will be set, the flowers playing an important role – all of that we make sure to capture as well.
The couple getting married is in such a daze on that day, they only have eyes for each other, and they don’t even get to remember all the small things that made up the day, but they get to look back at the photos, and go through all of the motions of that day again, which is a special moment in itself.
It’s a big commitment to get married, and another one to decide with which photographers you’ll trust your big day. We understand that, and take great care, to give you an amazing product, and capture all of the day’s happenings.

“The shoot was so much fun thanks to Louise and Riani who managed to get smiles from everyone including a very tetchy 10 month old and a sulky 6 year old!
We had so many beautiful photos, it was impossible to choose –we ended up getting all of them!”
