With all the bad things we hear about every day, happening in the news, all around the world, one thing is for certain – love at least still exist, and we see it in all the stunning couples that walk through our doors, wanting to have a photo shoot done to portray their affection for each other. At many gatherings, functions & parties there are always photos taken of the two of you, but having it done in the studio is a great way to make sure all smiles look great, eyes are open, there are no unwelcome colour casts or busy backgrounds.
Louise Diesel Photography is called the Real Life Studio, for a few reasons. Not only is it our life and our own true love, because we breath what we do – it’s also to capture the real life moments of this world’s people. When people are in love they have this euphoric state of being amongst each other, and we get to capture that in between the giggles and loving stares at each other.

When just working with one person it’s great, but when working with two people that just mould into each other perfectly, it’s a joy to see.

Professional Couple Photos

We love the studio and its controlled lighting, but every now and again, we get to go on a wonderful location shoot, and this one – was extra special. This husband sent a lovely email to us, saying how we must please ask his wife to make sure their horses, and dogs were groomed for a stunning couple shoot on their farm.

W enjoyed our shoot with this couple so much, as their bond, their love for their animals, and that which they share amongst the two of them, were so evident, and we got some stunning shots.

With environmental shoots, especially at the time of day we shot, it’s very important to have good quality equipment, which would be able to handle the low-lighting and quite shady, dark areas with ease. There is nothing worse that knowing you have just got the right shot, and looking back at it later, and seeing it’s blurred. Our Canon 5D mkii, is wonderful with handling light, and has impeccable colouring, which also makes it a dream to shoot at a wedding.

This shoot will always be close to our hearts, and their welcoming nature was appreciated.

Family Photoshoots

In this day and age, cupid must definitely be doing something right, as their still seems to very much, be love in the air. A couple shoot, is ultimately one of my favourite type of shoots. It is sometimes refreshing to not just work with one person, such as in a models hoot, but working with two. There’s a lot of chemistry going on, and that’s recipe for one fun shoot.

Both elements of a feminine lady, and a macho guy is brought together, and lots of giggles and laughs happen when the couple speak in lingo only they understand. We ask our couples to keep that energy flowing, as that is what makes for good shots. Little kisses, whispers and touches are what we’re looking for, and it’s always a joy seeing the couple interact.

It doesn’t matter which background the couple chooses to shoot on, either black- or white works fine, the white background’s characteristic, is that it gives a clean, modern feel, making bright colours really stand out, where as the black background adds to mood and atmosphere, and makes for a shoot with dimension from the low-key light set-up that works so well with the black background.

To plan for matric dances, is almost as big as the detailed planning that goes into a wedding, and for especially the ladies, it’s a big event that takes place. It’s not only about the evening and all the excitement that goes into that night, it’s the symbolic move from school, into the world out there, and that evening these young people get to celebrate it in a smart, dress-upped way.

As we said, so much planning goes into it, and every year, more unique and interesting creations come to life, with dresses getting more creatively put together, and representing the individuals wearing them, in their own special way. To have all of that go into the evening, and not to photograph it, would be a shame, as the evening goes by so fast, and one seems to forget have off the little details.

We understand, that photographs are the one thing that sticks with you a lifetime through, and you would obviously then, want the remembrance of any event, as beautiful and professional as possible. We will take great care, to show off all the trimmings, and get beautiful couple- and friend shots, so that you can go along and only enjoy the evening, knowing that all your effort has already been captured, and you, and the parents going along for this ride, can relax.

Matric Dance Photos

It’s enough to uphold a healthy relationship these days, but we are assured that it’s definitely out there, as we see stunning couple come and have some photos done by us. It seems a need for people to record their lives, and to have it done in a professional studio. Photos could be seen to some as only one slice of time, and it’s correct to say it is NOW, but we would like to think it has some magic to it, that gives it a longer expiration date, and have it not fade easily. With anything that visual, one gets to add at association to it, and when you get to look at some photos you remember exactly what you wore, what mood you were in, what the circumstances were, what feelings were involved. Like matric dance photos for example, or those special photos of a very new newborn baby, when in a few months time, they won’t look like that anymore.

A couple share a very special love that is very recognizable and those very in-love stares, hugs & cuddles should be treasured, at very least through great photos. Young couple might be talking of marriage already and want to start thinking about the décor of their little humble together, and a photo of the two of them, are a perfect addition to that, beautifully canvassed or framed for above the bed or in sets for the living room.

We welcome and enjoy couples that have different ideas, as we would always like to try new things, and any different dynamic is a great challenge to us. We have couples that just love to laugh and smile, and we also have couples who would like to try something edgy. Whichever shape or form the shoot turns out, photography still stays our passion, and we want to collaborate how we feel about or art, with what the couple feel amongst them.

Couples Photography

Taking photos of a couple in studio (any environment actually) is always a pleasure.  I always get myself into the right frame of mind by listening to love songs such as bed of roses paint my love.  Then I go in search of other couple photos which I have liked to serve as my muse….  I know it all sounds just a little dramatic but it really helps!  And then the fun starts.  We start out by using simple poses and work our way to the slightly more complicated but gorgeous poses.  Normally it takes 5 – 10 mintues to warm up to  the camera but in the end you will be having so much fun that it is sad that you have to leave   So if you would like to have couple photos taken of you and your other half contact us on info@louisedieselphotography.co.za or give us a call on 011 869 7759.
