Few things give me this amazing satisfaction, than taking a shot, through a mechanical machine, and then having it come out as breathtaking when opened. Some models just seem to have what we like to call poetry in motion, and with this lovely girl, it was exactly the case. She has a vision to become a model, and has chosen it has her carrier, and one very critical skill any aspiring model must learn is definitely to take good direction, sometimes the direction we are moving in is great, but with a small tweak the pose is perfected, and she seemed to understand that. I am always grateful and feel privileged to work with such promising people; they inspire me too, and make my job such a joy. Times seems to just fly by in a shoot like this, because the more we get into it, the more we find a great groove, and the more we want to discover what we can still do together as model and artist.

She had such a great time, and was extremely proud of herself, something which I wouldn’t even take the credit for, she completely pulled it out of her own self, and found her magic inside.

We always want to do what we like in any kind of job or career, it doesn’t always work like that. But if you set the intend to do magic, and to work with great people, and get to do amazing things, the lesser great times are so much easier to handle. A shoot like this will make me smile for very long still, because I get to be inspired, and I get to hand people a product that they can be proud of.

I shall forever be grateful for the lovely families that visit our studio, and for the trust they put into us, to capture their family’s bond. Every family is unique, every family has their own little way of going about their life, with each having their own inside jokes, and way of making each other fee loved and comfortable. Studio shooting could be regarded as standard and that a certain protocol is used for all, but it isn’t so. Each family is unique in its own right, each family member has their own special way of handling the studio, and to they handle themselves in front of the camera. Many Mommies will tell you that they have who children, they come out of the same household with the Mom and Dad doing the same things, and the two kids differ like day and night. In that same manner we treat every family member differently, perhaps working more on the shyer ones to get those precious smiles out of them. Culturally, we are all so diverse, especially in South Africa where we have a melting pot of so many different kinds of people, and each culture has a different way of handling their kids, and spouses.

We understand that smaller kids can be a handful at times, but we do about everything but stand on our heads to get them to smile, and there come a time, when even the toughest nut does crack, and we get a beautiful natural smile. Our studio wants to emphasize to all of our clients, how important it actually is to have fun in the studio, and how we work with all different personalities.

We realize each to their own, and we go to great lengths to keep clients happy, and provide you with a natural, great-quality product.

Fun family portraits

Louise and Ryan love to travel, they always try new things, and have been privileged to have seen such amazing places, places that humbly, inspire and amaze them, and they took such a trip to South America, where they saw breathtaking places such as Machu Picchu, and danced the tango in Argentina.

It’s an absolute sin to go anywhere on holiday and not take your camera with. You will definitely regret it for the rest of your life, and the world is such of such diversity, that you have to capture the essence of those unique places when you get to visit them.

Always try and find interesting little places, as the places most know to the world, has already been photographed millions of times. Each new place you see, has something unique about them, and you will be able to look back one day on those images, and feel proud of the fact that you used your time there wisely, and not only looked, but SAW their special characteristics.

It’s very inspiring and interesting to always hear of all of their tales when they return from these adventures, and as an artist I’m always proud of the fact that they took the time to really look, absorb, and capture the amazing things every new place had to offer.

Girls have that wonderful way of literally blossoming into who they are to become one day. When they’re young and these little pig-tailed beauties, they are mostly just cute and adorable, when they get a bit older, they have this wonderful in-between stage, where they so badly want to be grown-up, but still have no restraint when going to jump in the swimming pool, like the kids they still are. They love posing, and actually make for great models, because they have a youthful energy and spunk within them, and when I photograph it, I truly enjoy the craziness.

These days, they get to grow up in an era, where many things are technology fast-forwarded and advanced, and to still try and have them keep onto that everything that still keeps them young, is futile, the world makes time go by extremely fast. Obviously as photographers we understand the significance of photographs and how they are meant to last forever. We not do a job, or provide a service, we form a bond with you, and join in the fun you get to have on your special day, we create memories with you, and we provide you with a product that will make you proud every time you get to look at it, and think bad on that mad day with us and your special shoot.

Booking a teenage photoshoot for your girl and her friends, is an amazing idea, the experience of it will stick with you for many years to come still.

The use of good make-up done in a professional modeling shoot is not always acknowledged. In both our upper boudoir- and modeling packages we offer the option  of having make-up done by the make-up artist our studio have come to know and trust for years, Samantha Pretorius. Sam has been make-up for the studio for quite some time, she already feels like part of us.

Sam’s make-up is done in such a way, that you just seem to glow, but in no way does it look caked-on or unnatural. We know that Sam’s understands the nature of our shoots, and with studio flashes being white light, and tending to drain the colour out of your skin tone, we always advise all prospective models or ladies who come for their boudoir shoots, to get it done a bit heavier that what your used to. Even brides get advised to do so, because the last thing you want is to not look amazing.

Make-done for any type of photoshoot, is an amazing idea, because photos are a gift that lasts a lifetime, and one wants to look their best. Make-up gives is such a finishing look, and adds to your special muchness showing from within.

I always strive to give all clients who require modeling/or portfolio photos of themselves done, the very best of my ability, and I’m always proud to hand them a high-quality product, so that they can look at it, and hardly fathom that they had been able to bring that magical ability we all have to captivate out from within.

I always take it on as my responsibility, to make sure they show some of their personalities and surprise even themselves with the results we get to achieve in the studio. Many of the people, who require about modeling or portfolio shoots, aren’t professionally trained models – they don’t per inherently know how to pose or use the lines of their body to create images that shows of their appeal. That is why we as photographers guide and assist them, knowing what they light does, where the shadows will fall, and what needs to be accentuated.

A modeling shoot, is a tremendous amount of fun, and anyone who are interested would enjoy it so much, because it’s all about feeling even the more amazing as we go along, and when we get to show our clients what we do on the back of the camera, they are amazed, because standing on the other side, makes a huge difference. Feminine modeling portfolio photos

When this lovely lady came to enquire about a portfolio shoot, I was very excited – because she is very gorgeous, and had the most amazingly bubbly personality. She works in an interesting industry and what good portfolio-type of shoots done for use on her website. She was full of excitement when she got her make-up done by the lady we use at our studio, and who have been doing make-up for us for literal years, Samantha Pretorius. This is the type of shoot when you actually don’t quite know what to expect, because for many of us, posing and using the lines of your body, doesn’t actually come easily.

She took such great direction, and her images are great, she is extremely proud of herself, which we feel she has every right to be. Even if your goal isn’t per se to use your images for a website, or get a portfolio together for yourself to use as presentation for agencies, to have such a shoot done, is still very liberating, because you get to be free of all preconceived notions, and just relax and have us the artist do what we do best. We use the light and the lines that your body creates to make great combinations which work, which put the right highlights and shadows in all of the right places. Come and enjoy one of the most satisfying and freeing experience you might ever have, by getting a great portfolio shoot done for yourself, or even a friend.
