funky couple photography
The art of photographing couples lies in capturing the dynamics of this very special relationship.  It is always best to start off by having a conversation and finding common ground between you and the couple and from there just letting them chat and laugh with you guiding the

conversation to funnier topics :-)   We use unique poses which are also interactive so you will have fun while having your phoots taken.  A little whisper or piggyback just sets the mood.  And to spice everything up just a little bit you can always dress up for a night on the town so that you

feel even more confident (which will definitely show in your photos)  For more info contact us on info@louisedieselphotography.co.za

how to take silhouette photosAs it happens I decided to take my Boxer dogs with me on holiday for the first time ever and I must say that it was a fantastic experience.  We went to the Drakensberg and stayed over on this little house which is far away from any technology and other people so we didn’t have problems with the dogs bothering anyone.  The one dog ended up coming down with the flu (I suspect this was caused by the weather change from JHB to the mountains of the Drakensberg) so I had to take him

to the Vet which was a 40 min drive from where we stayed.  While sitting in the waiting room I saw a magazine cover with a photo of a donkey silhouetted against a beautiful orange sky and this is what gave me the idea to try the same kind of silhouette photo of my dogs and this was the result.  Not 100% what I was looking for but still truly beautiful…

As we stand in the beginning of this new year which is so full of possibilities let’s take some time to review how far we’ve come in life but also where we want to go in our lives so that we can become more fulfilled people.

inspirational quotes

“For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin–real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.”– Alfred D. Souza

“I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure–which is:
Try to please everybody.”

Herbert Bayard Swope

“Success is the good fortune that comes from aspiration, desperation, perspiration and inspiration.”
Evan Esar

“Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can.” — Danny Kaye

“Difficult times have helped me to understand better than before, how infinitely rich and beautiful life is in every way, and that so many things that one goes worrying about are of no importance whatsoever…”– Isak Dinesen

“Life is like a game of poker: If you don’t put any in the pot, there won’t be any to take out. “-Moms Mabley

drakensberg sunsets

Are you one of those individuals who would probably never be caught without your camera?  Well then you have probably tried to photograph one sunset or another.  Here is a few pics I took while on holiday in the Drakensberg.  The trick is to try taking photos of the sunset at different time intervals, let’s say about every 5 minutes.  Then have a look at how the colours change in the pics.  In the beginning you will probably find

sunset photos

that it still looks a little washed out and bleak, then somewhere in the middle you will find that the colours have been captured a lovely scene with vivid pinks and saturated oranges.  And then right at the end when the sunset seems to be its most beautiful you will see that it is useless trying to photograph it and better to just enjoy the breathtaking scenery.  The key is to find the right moment to photograph every sunset scene.

Lastly, you don’t always have to have the sun in a sunset picture. Be on the lookout for interesting reflections on the water or on reflective surfaces.

As we are celebrating the end of this year and the beginning of the next take some time to reflect upon everything you have learnt this year.  How much you’ve grown and all the friendships you are able to share :-)   We wish you and your family a prosperous new year filled with love and challenges to help you grow and become who you are supposed to be!

funky couple photosNow this is one couple who after years of marriage is still as in love as ever before.  S & T share the kind of love & friendship
which we all wish we could have.  We had so much fun in the studio and got natural & innovative couple pictures.  I appreciated

couple photography

that these two were so open minded to trying new poses and ideas.  Together they decided that they are going to spoil themselves
for Christmas with a fun couples photoshoot.  You too can share in this kind of fun.  Contact us for more info on
