We have families, who feel like our own, Mother’s who have brought us brownies, just because we always pride ourselves in giving clients more, and going the extra mile. We have families visiting us over and over again, and enjoy seeing their small kids grow from year to year.

This family is one of our studio’s favourite, we know the lovely Mommy so well, and she is such a great women, Riani photographed her kids when they were newborn’s, and even did their wedding photos.

 Funky family photos

It’s very important, to have as much fun as possible, to enjoy yourself as much as you can. It won’t just make you more comfortable in front of the camera, but it will make for good photos, photos that are interactive and casual, and not posed and stiff. It’s an old-fashioned way to pose people in distinct ways to the camera, and even though it was a style that worked for a certain era of portrait photography, today’s day and age, make for so much more fun, and to be able to have photos where you enjoy the experience, instead of it being a negative experience, and make you never want to do it again.

It’s a big vision of our studio, to use the bond between family members to the image’s advantage, and it will be those moments, you’ll remember with fondness. We want our clients to be nothing and no one else, other than whom they are, and it’s always a great idea to bring your own personal paraphernalia of what is true to you, or your family. We have had people who love to ride their bikes, and were kitted out in very cool bikes jackets, chaps and gloves. We have had very musical families who brought their musical instruments together as props. Children also go through stages where a stuffed animal the one moment, and their cricket gear the next would be what is of interest to them.

Making that part of your shoots will make the memory of your photo shoot, a very special one, as pictures are memories frozen in time, and one are able to present the loved ones, like grandmothers- and grandfathers with a gift that will be of who their children and grandchildren specifically were at a certain age or stage.

It always makes for a lot of fun to see the diverse interests of people, and we get to use it in creative ways in the studio. Be sure to include something personal of your own family in your next shoot, it adds a personal touch, and makes for extraordinary photos.

Fun family photos

Families of all walks of life visit our studios. Families made up of many people, small children, teenagers, single parents, lots of grandparents – almost every- and anything, and it’s always a joy, as people are a great subject to work with. Each and every single one is different, and what would work to get one four-year old boy to smile and giggle, might not have the same effect on another 4 year-old girl who has a bit more of a shy personality.

One family would be all into joking together and laughing with no inhibition, where another family is much quieter and that is just their way of life. Working with people if the best school of life there is, people teach you a tremendous amount about yourself, your own abilities and limitations, and it teaches you a lot about different cultures, traditions and ways of family-dynamics.

A family is a unit, and they all show that in different ways. This family was so comfortable with each other, and we love the way they interacted, chatted and humored each other, with the younger brother not standing back for any of the ladies’ jokes. Just being yourself, enjoying your time in the studio, will make for an amazing product, which we’ll process for you in such a way, that you’ll be proud to show everyone, and it will be memories to keep forever.

Family Photos

Our studio was invited to photograph the premiere of model and actress’ new movie, Ek Lief Jou, at Monte Casino. It’s a story about a singer played by Afrikaans singer Kurt Darren, with Christina’s character playing his fiancée in the movie. Dirk (Darren) has to find a new face for the female lead in his music video, and he ends up falling in love with the lady he chooses, played by Belgian actress Ilse de Vis.

The evening has many a celebrity and their plus-one’s being around, and the production company, Makadi Entertainment Ventures, made the conference room at Monte Casino come alive with interesting décor and snacks.

Miss Christina, stylishly clad in a white dress and black coat, was her usual sensual self with guests, and Willemien, her ever-present sister greeted the viewers with a smile, and made sure everything was going smoothly. Willemien is also one of the film’s producers along with Anton Ernst, director of Makadi Entertainment Ventures.

Ek Lief Jou, is one of quite some South African films released recently, showing our artists won’t stand back for any overseas production. The film is Kurt Darren’s debut as actor, and he enjoyed the experience so much, he is planning more films in the future. The film showed Christina’s versatility again, going from actress to model with ease.

A very good production, we hope to be part of such a great team’s future brainchildren.

We feel it a great privilege to call ourselves professional. If there is a concrete definition if that, we would like to think it suits who we are, and who we aspire to be. We work with so many different people every day, and one has to find that balance between keeping everyone happy, and still provide them with a viable product in the time that we have. In our profession especially knowing one’s equipment is key to giving people good photos that burst with colour, has good contrast, and was shot correctly, with little editing just to make sure it pops.

We use professional cameras and lighting set-ups, and are always very proud to show curios clients the back of the camera when we truly love a shot. We want to provide our clients with a service they feel aren’t possible to acquire at home, and they come to our studio to have a fun time, and make great memories. We understand the difference in skin tones, the different temperature outputs of different colour light sources, and how different people react differently to the dynamic of a studio set-up. It’s very much our responsibility to make them comfortable, assure them and get them to smile for some friendly photos.

Each family, gives some different back to us, and that’s why we enjoy them so much, they become like our own families.

Professional family portraits

Families sometimes have different make-ups, sometimes they consists out of just a mom, or just a dad – but however way they are put together, they each bring their own uniqueness, and we fully enjoy that. When you have girls, who are now not so small anymore, but can more so be called young women, it can be loads of fun getting them in the studio, especially sisters who differ so much, but love each other dearly.

A family is a bout they bond they share – some of that special connection we try and have them project in the studio, It’s very much important for us as photographers, to try and establish a bond with our clients, as we know we are providing not only a service, but took part in the product that they might want to display in their homes. Something they are proud of looking at, something with a great memory attached to it and something that represent that which they are as individuals, and as a united family.

Each and every single one is different- it’s the great thing about being in a studio, that we get to work with all sorts of families, different ones every week. People change and children grow, and we are always grateful when we get the chance to have them come around again, for something different or to show how big their kids have gotten.
