As professional photographers we are fortunate enough to see a lot of kids grow up right before our eyes.
Our first meeting with your little one is when they are spending all of their time growing in your tummy.
Personally I love taking pregnancy photos as there is just something so magical about the miracle of being
pregnant and bringing a child into this world.
There is no thing quite as beautiful as a newborn. Taking photos
of newborn babies is like walking into an alternate reality. The studio is normally really warm to keep them
comfortable and the lights are turned down to allow them to open those little eyes… I absolutely adore the
look every new daddy gives their baby sleeping in their arms!
Then a very interesting stage is baby photography
at roundabout 6-8 months, when your little one can just just sit up by themselves and just love being the centre
of attention. When you tickle them they tend to laugh from their bellies and there is no sound quite as beautiful…
I think toddlers are just about the most interesting little subjects I have ever met
They are full of energy
and ask about a million and one questions every day. They love to challenge you, but as soon as you start speaking
in their langauge (favourite stories, Barney songs and a marshmallow as treat at the end of the toddler’s photos)
pretty soon you will have them laughing, singing and playing along to everything you want them to do. Taking
photos of toddlers are feels like a gym session but seeing the beautiful results will make it all worth it…

FIFA 2010 Soccer World Cup South Africa Ladies and gentleman, today is officially 7 days left to the FIFA 2010 Soccer World Cup in South-Africa! Can you believe it?! This time last year it was all just a distant dream and now it is

almost upon us. International Soccer teams, coaches and supporters are starting to arrive in South-Africa as from tomorrow. We thought it might be a good idea to celebrate this joyous occasion by having soccer photos taken

of your family in the soccer kit of whichever team you support. You will all be able to look back at these soccer supporter photos and know that you
were there!!!
Bring your kids, flags from your soccer team, soccer kits and soccer balls, absolutely everything goes. For more information contact us on 011 869 7759 or send us an email on info@louisedieselphotography.co.za

The “K” family has been talking about doing a family photoshoot for ages, and so they decided that seeing as their sis is back from overseas to visit they will have fun family photos
taken. It all started off a little shy but all that changed entirely as soon as we pumped the music and got them all dancing. Of course we had to have photos with all the girls and their
dad as well as fun family photos along with mom. Taking photos of families involves getting them comfortable in the studio and to make joes and luugh along with each other. i.o.w.
getting the family dynamic to show in the photos. Having professional family photos taken is a true investment. These are memories which you will carry with you forever…

When photographing a family with small children time is of the essence. Younger children tend to get bored quickly so use their energy to your advantage. Play and sing with them so that you can create moments where you can capture natural smiles Sometimes you just have to let them
be and they will come back to the backdrop and dance for you if you put the music loud enough. Create a friendly environment where they feel free to play and be themselves. A little tickling also goes a long way, after the first tickle you just tantalise them with the thought that it will happen again and they
will surely have an award winning smile on their faces. And lastly, patience is key. Try to work with the kids as much as you can instead of trying to force them to do something they are not interested in. As soon as they feel pressured they will retract into their shell. Have fun

As it happens I decided to take my Boxer dogs with me on holiday for the first time ever and I must say that it was a fantastic experience. We went to the Drakensberg and stayed over on this little house which is far away from any technology and other people so we didn’t have problems with the dogs bothering anyone. The one dog ended up coming down with the flu (I suspect this was caused by the weather change from JHB to the mountains of the Drakensberg) so I had to take him

to the Vet which was a 40 min drive from where we stayed. While sitting in the waiting room I saw a magazine cover with a photo of a donkey silhouetted against a beautiful orange sky and this is what gave me the idea to try the same kind of silhouette photo of my dogs and this was the result. Not 100% what I was looking for but still truly beautiful…

The best memorable moment in our lives was when Baby Bibi Fatima was born. The second best moments were when we came in to the Louise Diesel studio to capture ourspecial family memories…
