Many people ask the same question when they enquire about modeling photos or modeling portfolios – if they don’t quite know what to do, will the photographer be able to direct them into what to do, and how to pose? The answer is definitely yes. When we studied photography, all care is taken to having it drilled into us how lighting works, and how to use the human shape, to make appealing pictures.

It takes a while for most people to relax in the studio – the big white backdrop might be a tad overwhelming, and the idea of a camera in your face, makes many people quite anxious. We try everything in our ability to make you feel relaxed in front of the camera, and to assure you that your final product will nothing less than amaze you.

Louise Diesel Photography Studio, in Randhart Alberton, is called the Life Studio for a few reasons – because not only do we get to take part in the capturing of all the people who walk through our doors’ memories, but it’s also, because photography is the most integral part of our lives here, it’s what we breathe, and it always give us great joy to photograph people and their lives.

Portrait Photography

Easter in the southern hemisphere is when the trees start turning all sorts of wonderful colours because autumn is upon us, and the winter soon thereafter, which only means lovely fireplaces, hot chocolate and snuggly blankets.  Our Easter special is for all our clients, because even though the cold is creeping up on us, we’re not going anywhere and will still continue to do what we do.

It involves normal photo shoots like any other; the only great difference is the discount of 20% off of any shoot booked for the month of April. All care and effort would be taken to still make it a great, professional experience for all our clients, and you would still get your beautifully edited photographs and high-res cd from us, something few studios offer.

Our studio can be heated up, or cooled down as the season, or little babies for that matter, requires it, so no need to worry when bring little kiddies our to us, that you will freeze in the studio, it will be cozy and warm, so we’ll get to see everyone in April!!

Lifestyle family photography

When your children are small, it’s normal to take a lot of photos of them; their whole life gets recorded, not even just at school, but always at home as well, as most people these days own a decent digital camera. And as it goes, kids grow at a rapid speed, and birthdays seem to come around faster than you can keep track.

Birthdays are quite a big thing for a little kiddie, as it’s their day to be the ultimate centre of attention, as the cake, and all the presents, and all the guests and friends, and decorations, are just for them. Kids are very honest, in all their doings, and the little expressions you get from something as special as a birthday party, when magical things little blowing out candles, receiving lots of presents, and having enormous fun with their friends happening, is priceless.

We understand that, and we have seen that having professional photographers capturing the whole day with professional equipment, is a great idea in having your children’s party recorded in the best way possible, and you’ll get great products of high quality.

Professional Kids birthday party photography

To pride oneself in being able to call yourself a professional photography studio, is quite a loaded statement, which has to be true to certain standards. That being said, photography is all about creating dimension – because dimension gets lost with photos, the subject can’t be heard, or touched, or smelled, or tasted, and it’s the photographer’s responsibility to bring back a certain dimension, so that the photograph has depth, literally, and figuratively. When we work with the lights in the studio, it is set-up to a way, that it creates the right amount of shadows, which immediately makes for a more of an appealing photograph.

When using it in modeling photography, it’s about using the model’s cheekbones, or the curves of a beautiful neck, or any other of the lovely lines a body consists of.  We use gradual lighting for our maternity shoots as well, because a pregnant tummy has a gorgeous shape, and one can accentuate that so much. Using the lights feathering, and the fall-off towards the side, creates just a little bit of light in small places, like the fold of an arm.

What will actually define you as professional, is being able to use your equipment, in all possible lighting conditions, and knowing what type of result it would give you. When you decide to become a photographer, a very helpful asset to adapt, is the ability to read light, all types, as they all give different results and colourcasts. In the studio, we use equipment set to 5000K, or more, which has the white effect, of sunlight.

Family Photoshoots

We knew when we were opening the doors to a photography studio, we were inviting families, and all of their little unique and special pieces they are made up of, in to a place, where we feel, we can give people an amazing representation of them, and who they are as a family.

Children has this wonderful way of growing, and changing completely in a span of years, or months even, and to photograph a little newborn – and seeing them a few months later, when they are already more aware of their surroundings, smiling gummy smiles, or sitting up, or even walking around yet, are personal joys for us, we love sharing that with the family.

This little boy and his mom had come for a few shoots by us already, D had her maternity shoot by Riani, when her little boy was born his newborn shoot, and recently, this chunky little boy walked in here, over two years already.

We love growing with families, and giving them our skill as something they can remind themselves of of the bond they have together. Family shoots are fun, and we enjoy giving people quality photos, good service, and excellent results.

Family Photography

We’ll always love babies, as there are no cuter- and more perfect creatures on this earth, than them. It’s also quite challenging – babies are inquisitive, and they are curious about everything. They also KNOW that the world revolves around them, and when they want something, they want it NOW. They really grow so fast, and at point come to a stage where they found their feet, and want to run around as much they can, sitting still, isn’t an option.

We understand this dynamic, and have photographed many babies, ranging from a day or two old – to as much as where they can’t be considered babies anymore, and we understand they go through changes and phases.

One cardinal rule for good laughing photos is a baby, with a full tummy, and one who has had a good nap not to earlier before. It’s sometimes hard enough as it is, but even more so when trying to photograph a baby who’s tired, or hungry. We find the lights, and handling them, and constantly probing them to smile, -tires them out so much as it is, so starting off with a baby who is smiling because they have had their nap and a meal, or a snack – is a good start.
