When Louise-Anne finally called to say the twins had now been born, we were so excited. Especially Riani loves to do newborn photos, and we had such a gorgeous Maternity shoot with Louise-Anne and Cassidy that we just knew, photographing the twins would only produce amazing images.

They were completely chilled and relaxed, and slept through the whole shoot. Mom had such a great hand on them, one even wondered how she seemed so in control of two babies, and that that should actually be the norm. Daddy is such a tall, big guy, that we enjoyed posing them with him just to show their small size in comparison.

A very good time to bring newborns for their own shoot is at roundabout 10-12 days, so closely two weeks old. A bit smaller and they tend to not be so secure away from the mother, and when they are a bit older they are a bit more aware of their surroundings, and tend to also squirm like little eels when you hold them. Nevertheless, our studio welcomes babies, and their proud parents, and would want you to bring baby when they are ready, and when your household is a bit more settled. Twin babies newborn photos

Taking photos of babies is something special we get to do every day!  Some of them are these tiny little cutie pies and others are these chunky little dudes but they all have something in common…  those gummy little smiles J

In baby’s first year we would recommend having three photoshoots done, the first being newborn (at between 7-12 days old), the second being around 6 months old when they are sitting by themselves, pushing up on their arms when placed on their tummy and smiling and interacting, and the third shoot at right about one year old, when they are taking tentative steps by themselves and still look super cute in their diapers.  Thereafter it’s only needed about once a year.

Everyone wonders what to expect at these photoshoots and I am going to tell you.  In preparation bring some colourful and noisy toys along for baby which will be used in the end to catch their attention and for them to play with.  Don’t forget some juice / tea – whatever baby prefers, because being a model is really hard work J

And lastly remember your sense of humor as this tends to go a long way!

Baby photoshoots

We have a saying here at our baby photography studio, and it says that we have the best job in the world because we get to meet all the new babies…

Each and every baby bring their own unique personality to the shoot.  Once they are past that “newborn baby” stage they start getting much more interactive.  They look over at you when you talk to them, they start smiling and making the cutest gurgling noises as though they want to talk to you, so adorable!

I would definitely recommend a 3-4 month baby photoshoot to each and every parent who wants to capture their little one’s milestones as we go along.

Taking cute photos of your baby’s new smile is often very hard to do at home as they smile for a split second and once your camera phone has finally managed to focus that beautiful gummy smile is long gone.  In the studio we use professional Canon equipment which focuses in a flash and take 5-7 frames per second so I can promise you that we will capture more than just one of these beautiful smiles…

With all the terrible things that happen in this world, it might as well be balanced by our little people – our kids. Kids are the cutest, and the moment they talk they get to say the funniest things. We enjoy little kids tremendously, and they sure as hell make us work for it. Kids rule the world, and when they don’t want to, they don’t want to. Ideal Christmas presents

It’s interesting to think we all started off as small, tiny babies, who also couldn’t talk or walk at some point, having our parents make a fuss over us, and our grandparents even more so. A brand new newborn baby is the sweetest thing, and they have such amazing characteristics, one just has to take photos of it. Babies tend to lose that newborn look after awhile, they grow at a rapid rate and fill out becoming chubby and adorable.

We are very blessed to have formed some amazing bonds with the families of small babies who had comes for shoots over the years, as they are some of our clients who’ll always keep on coming back to visit us. Babies turn into cute little toddlers, and it’s amazing to see how the family’s dynamic has changed, and it’s time for a new shoot again.

 Photos of newborn babies

Big and small, we get to meet them all… :-)  Personally I think we have the best job in the world.  We get to meet new people on a daily basis as well as all the newborn angels, chubby babies, toddling toddlers and many more!

They are each special and unique in their own way.  Some of them just smile by themselves (you don’t even have to be talking to them) and some take a little more convincing, but in the end their true little personalities shine through.  Even if they are very solemn and frown most of the time, then this is what we’ll  capture, as that is the stage they are going through (besides these make for good photos to show at their 21^st’s :-)   )

Little Mr S over here, was probably one of the easiest and enjoyable shoots I have done, he just couldn’t stop smiling and talking in that cute gurgling was babies often do.  Such a little nunu
