This is what photographing babies are all about.  Capturing these innocent expressions and smiles and knowing that they don’t have a care in the world.  Holding that emotion true to your heart.

I was delighted when R phoned me to schedule her second maternity photoshoot.  I had the pleasure of taking photos of her first pregnancy and so we have formed a bond.  The challenge lies in making each pregnancy photoshoot unique in it’s own way.  The funniest thing was her little boy

is now a year old and he was crawling all over the studio eating Flings and biscuits.  Having photos taken while you are pregnant is something very special that you can share with your child later on.  If you have a stretchmark or two I have a magic wand in photoshop which you will just

love.  Every shoot is done in the privacy of our studio or your own home and we take extra care to make you feel at ease.  The best time to come for your pregnancy photos is between 35-38 weeks.  By then your tummy is round and full which will make your photos even more beautiful.

Why not make an outing of it, go to the salon and have your nails and hair done.  This will make you feel super confident and it will definitely show in your photos.

For some inexplicable reason woman can’t help but feel attracted to newborn babies.  I believe this is what helps make our newborn baby photos  so beautiful!  They are little miracles with so much potential, a clean slate waiting to be filled wait adventures.  Newborn babies

represent love in it’s purest form.  Little C is exactly one week and a day old on the day she was photographed.  And she may look tiny but she already weighs 3.8 kg’s.  If you have ever watched a couple looking at their newborn child you will notice that there is such tenderness involved in every little touch of the hand or whisper that everything will be okay.  That is what we capture in the photos of your precious baby photos.  I

could just sit and stare at newborn babies all day, they stir something unknown deep in my heart.  It could almost be explained as we use our maternal instincts to photograph these beautiful miracles.  I would recommend bringin baby in when they are between 3-7 days old.  They have

this newborn look along with the cutest little wrinkles on their arms and legs.  Try and schedule a provisional shoot for your newborn so that you already have contact details and addresses so if baby comes early and it feels like chaos has taken over your life at least one more thing is taken care of

The last time I saw “J” was when he was but a few months old…  His hair was much darker (almost black) and he had a fair skin (seeing that he was still a baby and didn’t get exposed to sun too much.  I can’t believe how big he has gotten.  He slides everywhere on his tummy and can now sit

by himself   This is one of the pleasure’s of being a photographer, you get to be a part of someone else’s life and this makes every photoshoot special in it’s own right.  You have to be quick when photographing toddlers, they often don’t like to lie on their tummy’s for a very long time and

get bored really fast.  Get down to their level and entertain them.  Play peek-a-boo from behind the camera and remember to smile a lot.  Children tend to imitate our behaviour so of course they might just smile back at you.  Try to capture every little smile and expression as they seem to have so many of them.  Have fun!

Toddlers are much more mobile than smaller babies and these are usually very high-energy photoshoots.  Imagine a little boy
crawling around and around on the backdrop and you can only take a photo every time they come around?  Having photographed so

many toddlers we have more than enough experience to ensure that we can make the photoshoot fun and enjoyable for the whole
family.  We put them in a shell filled with coloured balls, play peek-a-boo from behind the camera and sing along to their

favourite songs.  All this to make sure we get the most captivating photos of your little busy body!
