We went to the Canon EOS roadshow yesterday to view the new Canon 50D as well as the new Canon 5D Mark II cameras. Oh man – I was like a kid in a toy store!! I have never been so excited about a camera (the 5D Mark II) You can have a look at all the specs at http://www.dpreview.com/previews/canoneos5dmarkII/ so I won’t go into all the details but some of the main features of the 5D Mark II include high definition video (a first on any SLR camera) as well as 21 megapixel CMOS sensor and the new DIGIC 4 processor.
Basically the 50D is not replacing the 40D (which is a really nice camera) but rather it serves as a bridge between the 40D and the 5D mark II. Each of these cameras has their place and the decision on which one to buy really depends on what you are going ot be shooting.
And then there are the lenses…..
We also had a look at the new 18 – 200mm Canon lens which I am so excited about – it’s about time Canon come out with a lens like this. I am a little disappointed that it’s not a professional lens but then the upside is that the price is so much more attractive. At the end of the day, most of these cameras are really good and there comes a point where it is better to buy good lenses than a new camera as the camera is only as good as the lens on the front.
So my decision now is what to buy??? Let’s hope father christmas gets my wishlist and brings me lots and lots of goodies…. oh how I love Christmas time and christmas carols and of course christmas presents!!!!
Ho Ho Ho – I am so excited!!!
Dear Riani
I’d like to say a very big thank you for the photo shoot you did on Saturday for Sages Modeling Portfolio.
Sage has lots of fun and felt very relaxed and like a professional model working with you, it was an overall great experience.
Thank you so much.
