It was Reece’s 7th birthday party on Saturday. He is one of Jamie’s friends from St Johns College and they think they are such big deals now that they are in Grade 1. Anyway, Reece had his party at Bootcamp in Paulshof and it was fantastic!
The boys had so much fun and have asked to have their party there too. It is a wonderful idea for a birthday party, for both boys and girls (there were a few girls parties there on Saturday) and it is also a nice venue as it is so big that they can handle a few parties at the same time without interfering with each other at all.
We were instructed to bring old clothes and were warned that they would get dirty. But that was an understatement….. They got filthy and had a ball doing it. They started off with their sargent shouting off instructions to do push-ups, with the boys having to do them over and over again until they responded loudly enough, Demi loved this and joined in too.
Then they were off to the river where they got caked in mud and then proceeded to cover the parents in all this mud (or at least some of us – Ryan and I were filthy!) Then they were leopard crawling under nets, climbing up nets and swinging on ropes. It was so busy and they had so much fun! They were absolutely exhausted last night and slept really, really well.
After all the training, the parents were asked to do a few push-ups and thank major mom for the experience. It was really well done. It really gave the boys an opportunity to run around in the bush, get dirty as boys love to do, shout and scream (which they also love to do) and then finish it all off with cake and ice-creams. What more could you want from a birthday party? Oh yes, the moms had a few glasses of wine while the children were entertained so fun was had by all!!!
I managed to take a few pics with my Cybershot, unfortunately I had left my Canon 40D at home. I was quite disappointed as it was such a lovely venue to get some really nice birthday party photos. The boys just looked so cute and it is not often that you get to photograph them in such cool surroundings all covered in mud!
I would love to go back and photograph some birthday parties there, so any parents planning on having a party there and looking for a professional photographer to capture those special moments can call me any time!

The best memorable moment in our lives was when Baby Bibi Fatima was born. The second best moments were when we came in to the Louise Diesel studio to capture ourspecial family memories…
