What makes Christmas so special?  You, me and every other person in the world love Christams for very different reasons…

 Kids obviously love Christmas because they get lots and lots of presents “from Santa Claus”  Christians around the world celebrate Christmas as that day represents the birth of Jesus Christ our saviour.  But for me Christmas is  special day to bring thanks for another year which could be spent with friends and family.  I love just catching up with my “whole” famil (believe me it is more like  tribe… lol)  Just having fun, spending quality time together palying board games, having a special lunch etc etc etc.

Pregnancy is one of the “big milestones” in a woman’s life.  Just like your matric farewell and getting married…

A photoshoot gift voucher is the ideal gift for any occasion.  Do you really remember what you looked like when you were pregnant?  Pregnancy photos has now started to evolve into something of an art.  Lots of people get one or two of these photos of their belly printed onto canvas (for a more arty feel) and hang them all over the house.

I know it is daunting to show your growing belly to a perfect stranger and have them photograph it and that is exactly why we take extra special care to make you feel comfortable including playing soothing background music to get you into the right mood to get your tummy photographed.  Have you ever listened how everyone agrees that pregnant women are beautiful, it is because they have a certain glow which can only be ascribed to becoming a mother.

I once read somewhere that stretchmarks from pregnancy should be considered to be the equal of “military stripes” but for moms.  Let me share a secret with you, I have this magic wand (in photoshop) which I am sure you will just love.  Together with my magic wand, professional lighting and warm personality I will ensure that you look your most radiant (and stretch mark free)  in your maternity photos.  We have a crew of female photographers who are perfectly attuned to you and how you feel about the child growing in your womb.

I’d never thought of doing pregnancy photos until I came across Louise’s website. The thought of having a complete stranger take photos of my naked belly was just too daunting for me. Against my better judgment I decided to do the photoshoot anyway. I was met by Riani at the gate, whom I think could sense my hesitation and made me feel soo comfortable with myself, my growing belly and the entire experience. My husband was even more anxious than I was, but Riani really capture the essence of who we are & the transformation that was taking place in our lives.I look at the photos now & feel proud to have gone through this experience as Riani capture the essence of my pregnancy. I would strongly recommend that every couple that is expecting to do this not only for themselves but for their children to appreciate in the years to come.”

What I am trying to say is that you shouldn’t miss out on this beautiful opportunity which you will cherish forwever.  As this is the beginning of a new chapter of your life filled with possibilities!

Photographing toddlers is almost an artform in itself.  This is the stage where they think they are now big enough to “think for themselves” and they start developing this sense that they want to do everything themselves as well.

Patience is key.  You have to give them a few minutes to investigate their new surroundings and then use a prop(like my “reindeer” above) to get them to sit on the backdrop.  You could even use a big shell full of coloured balls  which you get them to sit and play in.  And then you wait, camera always at the ready to fire.

Sing to them, talk to them and play with them.  Putting toddlers at ease in your photo studio takes time but is well worth it in the end.  Keep in mind that they have a short attention span and tire quickly.  So try and take as many photos as possible without intruding in their space or pressuring them.

They are definitely not going to sit in the exact pose which you have shown them (and if they do it is only for 2 seconds) so take the shot even when they are trying to stand on their head or sitting on dad’s back because this is what makes toddler photography unique.  The unexpected!

Photographing babies is always such a pleasure!  Each and every baby photoshoot is just as unique as the baby being photographed.  Some of them love the camera and smile that you only see dimples and others have to be eased into the photoshoot.  I always say that babies are the

easiest to photograph as they are already gorgeous and we aim to capture just that. Dad C went to school with R & D & B.  And as we all know… everyone knows “THE DIESEL BOYS”  lol   L is just such an angelic little baby.  You can’t help but fall in love with her as soon as you see her.

What I will never forget is the K’s SPECIAL MOVE.  Dad takes little L and swings her around (the wilder the better) and she goes quite instantly.  She absolutely loves it!  I find it amazing how babies are so small but they just rule any room you bring them into.  They really are precious and I

enjoyed every moment of this photoshoot!

Christmas is only 42 days away…!!!

Have you noticed that all of a sudden every shopping centre has put up their Christmas Decorations and Specials?  Makes you realize how fast this year has gone by…

This always feels like the busiest time of the year to me.  You suddenly realize how mant things you have wanted to do this year which you havent gotten around to do (AND you still need to buy everybody presents).  Moms can now also start telling their kids that if they are naughty

they will get socks from Santa for christmas.  There was a desperate housewives episode where Lynette (a mom with 3 boys aged 6 and under) tells her sons that she has Father Christmas’s cellphone number (which she got from an elf who knows an elf whoo knows and elf) and if they don’t behave themselves she will phone Santa and tell him that they all want socks for Christmas… I laughed so hard!
