I play soccer with the winter league at a soccer club in Linmeyer called Linhill Celtic and this is where I mett Nicole. Brilliant soccer player (when aggravated) I might add…
When I saw some of her photos on Facebook I decided that we definitely need to do a professional modelling portfolio with her being a model and me the photographer
Nicole is super photogenic (yes even when you smile) and the most beautiful green eyes to go with her pouting “pissed-off” look. She is a natural model, even got a temper to match… No I’m just joking, she was just a little bit nervous and it didn’t help
that it was super cold on the day we did the shoot. I absolutely adore the location on which we did the shoot. It’s an old factory where only a few of the spaces are being used. It is full of rich colours and textures.
So thank you Nic for giving me this great opportuniy and being my photographic model for the day. I owe you one

Being a wedding photographer is a true privilege…
You get asked by a couple whom you have met only once to share in their special day and capture memories which they will treasure forever!
You basically become part of the family for the whole day, I’ve even had some families hugging me and telling me that it was such a pleasure… This is all the little things which make it worth it
That is the part of being a female photographer that I think really suits us to the job of photographing your wedding. We’ve also dreamt of our wedding day’s for like FOREVER, we also get all sentimental about your great grandma and great grandpa attending your wedding etc. When choosing a wedding photographer it is truly important that you click with them, so make a few appointments and go meet with a few professional wedding photographers and take your time to get to know them.

I had the pleasure of photographing one of my work colleaugues’s sister last Friday. She is 37 weeks pregnant at the moment and it made me realize how quickly time flies. It feels like yesterday that Kerry walked into my office with a HUGE smile on
her face and told me that she was going to be an aunty…
Liesje is expecting a little boy and his name is going to be Michael Desmond, nice hey? I couldn’t stop telling her what a nice tummy she has, it is almost perfectly round and she has
absolutely no stretch marks…lucky fish! We had so much fun in the studio because Kerry also attended Liesje’s shoot, so we laughed and chatted while I was snapping away… Kerry and her sister told me that we might have a little baby born in the
studio and I was trying very hard to ignore the comment. I can’t wait to meet little Michael once he is born, if his mom is this pretty, can you imagine what he will look like?

I think we have photographed some of the cutest kids in Johannesburg in our Johannesburg photography studio (if I have to say so myself) I mean look at these cute little faces full of promise
Each of these kids are uniquely different and we aim to capture exactly that in a perfect combination of fun and technical skills.
We specialise in taking spontaneous portrait photos of you kids / babies and toddlers. We create a fun environment for them to play in and then just capture their true essence. Photographing kids in studio takes a lot of patience and that’s exactly why
Louise and I are specially equipped to interact with your kids. Louise has three kids of her own, all under the age of 7 and my brother’s kids (who stays with us during the day) are all under the age of 6. To be able to photograph kids you need to understand what drives them. FUN fun FUN and tons of curiosity
We have a non-traditional approach to photograping toddlers and babies, in other words we don’t just photograph kids when they are sitting and smiling at the camera… We play with them, sing with them and even get moms and dads to dangle them by their feet… Anything (safe) to get that perfect smile!

As promised yesterday here is my attempt at photographing Sushi. I was all inspired in the beginning but because of a lack of planning on my side things went a little haywire in the end. I always rush into things head over heels and end up trying to
patch up in the end, so I didn’t plan what I wanted each shot to look like. But I don’t think they are too bad for a third attempt at food photography. Practise makes perfect they say ;-) It’s exactly the same thing with photographing people in studio.
I used to really battle with low-key lighting for maternity and newborn shoots, but the more I did the better I got at it. So I will keep practising because It is another very rewarding field of photography to work in.
Maybe the underlying poblem was that I don’t eat sushi and so I find it hard to portray it in an appealing manner… Because if you look at my photos of the chocolate eclairs they look absolutley delicious
I think I’ll try stick to photographing food
and desserts which I find appetising at first until I master the art of food photography…

Yes I know, you must be thinking what a combination to photograph together?! Well each of these got their own composition and shot
I woke up on Sunday morning and decided that today is the day to take some professional food photos so that is exactly what I did. I have a HUGE recipe book from Marie-Claire which I bought not to make use of the recipes, to cook great food but because it has AWESOME food photos which just totally inspires me (yes you heard right, I spend a lot of money on inspiration) As an artist I find that inspiration keeps the flame of passion alive. So after paging through this book and various others I decided on a whim to photograph Sushi. (Which I don’t really eat myself, personally I dont think it tastes vile, I’m just not very fond of eating it) On the other hand it comes ready prepared and it’s got many different shapes and colours. So off we went to Kung-Fu kitchen in Comaro Crossing to buy my still life “subject”. In photography planning is everything. A photographic shoot is made up of 50% planning and the other 50% is the actual shoot. I tend to sometimes do things a little head over heels so it took me a while to compose my shots perfectly and I think I’ve got some magazine quality food photography shots. Having the chocolate eclairs to photograph was just a fluke. It was my sister and her boyfriend’s 2 year 2 month anniversary and seeing that he has a sweet tooth and she bakes like a top chef she decided to bake for him. She insisted that I photograph her baked goodies and it came out a such a gorgeous photos (but I mean really, can something so divine look bad in a photo?
) So have a look tomorrow when I post some of my pics

I had the privilege of photographing little Tivesh’s 1st Birthday Party on Saturday and what a ball we had. The party was Mickey Mouse themed and there was banners of little Tivesh everywhere
Can you believe he started walking a few days before he was 11 months old!? Can you imagine where this little boy is headed, amazing! Birthday party photographs are truly special memories to capture and while out in the sunshine photographing little kids at play just made me realize how privileged I am to live out my passion every day. When I am taking photos I don’t realize how time is flying. I am truly blessed to be able to do what I love
