So we did a photoshoot for a wonderful home the other day called ‘Miracle Mission’. They are a home for abandoned babies and they do some amazing work! So we took a few pics of the children and babies in Christmas outfits so that we can design and print some Christmas Cards for them. It was a lot of fun and we got some beautiful, fun christmas photos of the children….

When I got home with a bag full of Christmas goodies, it was no surprise when my little angels asked to play with the christmas things!! Oh the excitement of Christmas….. (only 74 days to go by the way!!!) So naturally we made a deal that they could play with the christmas hats and gifts and so on as long as they played in the studio (sneaky…) I grabbed my camera and managed to get a few pics of my christmas angels…..

We took some fun photos in the studio today and I just had to post a few… I have the most beautiful baby girl on the planet!!! Isn’t she gorgeous?

They say ‘A picture speaks a thousand words…… ‘ isn’t that so true? Just look at little Demi’s eyes – in this case a picture says it all – how can you put that into words?

Okay,I am biased – all babies are beautiful and unique and I love them all – that’s why I love what I do!

I must say though that photographing Demi in studio is getting more and more difficult these days as she is so busy and does not wnat to sit still for a minute! Guess that’s what a professional photographer needs to deal with – that’s where having 3 kids gives me an adavantage…. lots of experience in that department!!!

We all need some inspiration to help with the challenges that life has a habit of testing us with: Business challenges, personal challenges, health issues, family crises and so on…

My good friend and internet marketer Perry Marshall sent me this
little story about his neighbor’s courage in the face of disaster.

His wife Lisa is a 39 year old mother of two has just been for
surgery for the second time for a brain tumor. She is weak, she’s on
chemotherapy, and her memory skills, speech and motor skills have
been seriously affected by the surgery. She brings a spoon or fork
to her mouth only with considerable difficulty.

Her husband Rich brought her home from the hospital a few days ago,
on their 17th wedding anniversary. He prepared a special dinner
surprise.

While they ate, piano music was playing in the next room. Her
favourite song came up, and at that point he led her by the hand
into the living room.

It wasn’t a CD. It was a real live concert pianist.

Huntley Brown, a wonderfully gifted musician was in town for a
concert. Rich had contacted him and persuaded him to sneak into
their house and make the evening special.

Grand slam, Rich! Congratulations on the romantic achievement of a lifetime!

That was a week ago, and the spirit of music has helped her along
since then. She normally has a hard time talking but Rich heard her
singing along at church. Then she came home and – despite having a
hard time eating and getting dressed – she miraculously played her
piano for 45 minutes.

Lisa’s not out of the woods and no one can say how her recovery will go.

But her husband is obviously NOT SITTING GLUMLY IN A STEW OF
SELF PITY. His eyes laugh in the face of disaster, and he has turned the grimmest of situations into a celebration.

He has displayed BOLDNESS and FAITH – even ROMANCE – in the face of
DISASTER.

Dear Louise, I don’t know what your situation is, but odds
are you’re facing something…

Like Rich, you should face it with courage. And humour. And be sure
to add a touch of romance.

You too can laugh in the face of disaster – and in fact that
disaster may just be the crucible that perfects you so you can rise
to the next occasion!

I just had to post a few photographs of my baby girl…. we went to visit granny and grandad the other day because my little brother Vince is visiting for 3 weeks (all the way from Liverpool in the UK).

As usual, the kids had a ball and Demi ended up in the plants first, eating all the sand and leaves and then in the box of water and finally in the pool with her granny. And boy did she love it…..

I just couldn’t resist and had my camera out like a shot – I am always taking photographs (wherever I go) but when it comes to taking photos of my baby girl, I am a sucker…. I just can’t help myself – she is sooo cute! Guess I will have to do another post of my other 2 babies and put up some photos of them too – they are really photogenic but then I am biased (lol).

Makes me think of my mom – Ryan always teases her because when we had Jamie – her first grandchild – she always used to say that he was so advanced! Then Mikey came along and she said the same thing. Then my brother JJ had Jordy (the cutest kid on the planet) and you guessed it – he was advanced too!!

So it was no surprise when Demi was declared advanced as well and granny still claims that they all are advanced and she doesn’t care what anyone else thinks! Guess that’s what grandparents are for…..

We went to little Shaye’s 2nd birthday the other day – what a sweetie she is…. She is so cute I could just eat her up. I have a soft spot for little girls I know, but I guess I just feel sorry for her because she also has 2 older brothers (just like our demi) – the poor thing!!!! Just kidding, they are actually really nice boys and love their sister to bits (as do my 2 angels…)

It was such a lovely birthday party – there were tons and tons of children – you would never have known that it was a little girl’s second birthday party with the amount of boys there were there too….. that’s where all the older brothers come in after all.

The children had so much fun – they got hold of some balloons and made water bombs with them – what fun! I was lucky enough to catch some of the action and have some pretty fun birthday party photos after all….

It was so nice to see all our friends again and just relax in the sun. (Yay summer has arrived) We even had some Barney ice-cream cake – yummy……

Well, little Shaye, we hope you had a wonderful birthday – stay as sweet as you are……

I was fortunate enough to photograph The Parlotones last night and of course watch them perform. I was not disappointed- those guys are amazing! I don’t think they have one bad song… I really love their music and some of the lyrics are really special.

I think we are quite blessed to have bands like The Parlotones in South Africa and to have so many opportunities to watch them perform – they are certainly on par with international bands and I would imagine that they will be touring the world pretty soon if they keep up the good work.

They certainly kept the croud entertained and were enjoyed by all – both young and old. It was a beautiful evening of good music at a wonderful venue (On The Night at SJC). Well done to The Parlotones – you are making South Africa proud!

We went to “On the Night” at Jamies school(St Johns College) last night and wow! what a night it was!!! The boys had a fantastic time. The fireworks show was really amazing and I had great fun photographing all of them. It was really special and there was one moment where Jamie was sitting on his dad’s lap with wonder and excitement and awe on his face and I just felt so grateful that I got a tear in my eye (well actually a few tears but I am really sentimental and soppy sometimes…)

It was a really professional show and I can’t wait for next year (it is an anual event) and this time I will take all my friends and family with. I am really proud to have my boys at such a wonderful school and I realised last night that that is what I work for – to give my children wonderful experiences like that….

So if any of you are frieworks enthusiasts, I would definitely recommend “on the night” at st john’s college (SJC) next year. Take a picnic basket and a blanket and you are set for a magical evening……
